I love how the game is built around quests to advance. You can grind all you like...but the way to get good XP and coin is by doing quests a lot. Much better than a basic grind.

I liked the actual world. I don't like being such a squishy priest (which is why I quit, as well as having such a bad connection I get 800-6000 ping a lot) in PVP (yes, I can go Shadow, but then I'm not healing). Anyone heard from their guild priests about whether the new patch has helped (crucial factor for whether I resubscribe).

I deleted him, and I don't play WOW right now. Had to let him go, cause otherwise the character would be there, and it would be easier to go back. Had fun as long as it lasted, but I go to school, and I found myself sitting up late at nights, skipping school (I'm sure none of you ever skipped anything important because of gaming!) - so I did what I had to do. Unfortunately, all that gaming back then, this autumn, got me out of balance, and now I'm not in school at all. I live at shcool though, and there are lots of good people here, and I still learn valuable things. The morale of the story? - You get the picture =D

I love the overall feel of the game and how's it more catered to the casual gamer. It's got loads of things for more hardcore players like me to do, but at the same time doesn't require hours upon hours of time to get anything accomplished. I also <3 BG's! I own alliance all the time with my pretty totems XD

And also...if you're on the Crushridge server...PST me!

Awesome, my wife just made her first Shaman (and our first horde characters) I'm an Undead Priest. Look for us sometime if you are ever on Scarlet Crusade (Detheles and Zuellah) or Khaz Modan (Deonzir and Thrielina)

=) We used to be altaholics..but mellowed out. Now just have three characters.

When I used to play(quit about 2 weeks ago, WoW practically ruined my GPA/social skills)

I had:
60 Human Paladin
60 Human Rogue(full Nightslayer set, Perdition's Blade, Core Hound Tooth)
45 Human Warlock

I played the game since the day it was released and in that time I killed all of the endgame bosses with my guild. Nevertheless my life has improved dramatically since I quit 2 weeks ago.

My wife and I have a BLAST playing...and have made some very good friends in it whom we talk to outside the game.

I am playing wow now. It is very fun but I don't see how people are missing work and school for it. It doesn't have me in a rush to get anywhere, that's why I like it.

Unfortunately to be the best you really have to let the game rule your life. Strict raid schedule, and always being prepared with the best, most rare items.

Of course if all you want to do is socialize and have fun it is easy to keep it from controlling your life.

That's why you just have to take a round with yourself before playing such games:

"Do I really want to be 'the best' here? The best players do nothing but play this game. They sit up and play for 10-15 hours every single day. They drop out of school, don't work, don't have any social life. Do I want that? I know I could, but what would such an attitude towards this game benefit me? Sure, I'd become a good player, but at what cost? Also, I know I could spend some endless hours gaming just for a short while, and be pretty good for a while too, but one day I'll have to let go, and I won't be on top anymore, because the elites are going to be playing from day one until the game is taken offline."

Eh, I never got into the whole "I gotta be the best!!!!" attitude. My wife and I keep raiding or dungeon romps for weekends for the most part. A good guild will understand real-world commitments.

WoW is full of spoiled little kids and people who started playing who became addicted. I have lost at least 6 friends to WoW because that is all they do now and all they talk about. One of them even lost a full ride scholarship to college, including housing, because he would rather play the game than go to class. I think it is stupid.

To be honest and not to slight anyone or their friends but you have to be an idiot to miss life, school, work because of a game, especially if you are not part of it's development. I do not blame wow, it's not that good of a game to blame it. I blame the people. Such people would probably get addicted to gambling and other things with ease. I don't mean to slight but dang.

I just started playing last week.

I'm a level 10 human warlock?? I think... My name's Lingmire on there. And we play on the server stormreaver. I just started playing in hopes of saving my marriage and getting to spend a little time w/ my addicted husband. but i DO enjoy playing. I wish he enjoyed playing a little less.

Hubby is lvl 60 paladin named Ryndel? But when he plays with me he's a level 20 dwarf named Suoyok.

I went through the MMORPG is my life thing with Everquest in 2001-2003 then started losing interest. I really like WoW and was pretty heavy into it for a couple of months but it just doesn't have the same magic for me that EQ did.

Very nice. I love horde to the extreme, so I'm glad you made the change to the good side (irony? ). I've heard much of the fabled Scarlet Crusade server, so I may stop by sometime if I'm ever bored. Good luck to you both.

I have a severe case of alt-itis, but only a few characters I play regularly. What kind of loser rolls TWO Paladins?

Anyway... all of my characters are on Silver Hand; my RL friends established themselves there with Alliance toons, so I've been there ever since. I have...

Liuceijya (lvl 60 Human Paladin)-- Been incredibly lazy with raids, so she has doodley for equipment. (1 piece of Lightforge FTW!) but she's fun to RP. Known as 'Juice' to her friends.

Agatea (lvl 17 Dwarven Paladin)-- part of an all-Paladin guild called the Caelestis Templares. It's good to play a zealot. *evil grin*

Teatha (lvl 34 Gnome Warlock)-- My main for the moment. I'm definitely going to level her to 60 because Warlocks are fun.

Tibylt (lvl 18 Gnome Mage)-- Exploding things are fun. Engineering forever!

I also have a couple of Hordies on Maelstrom, but I barely ever venture there...
