World of Warcraft. evil?

Just out of curiosity, but has anyone in this thread actually raided in WoW?

Actually, that is where I find EQ and WoW to be comparable. I haven't raided extensively in WoW but what I have was a lot of fun; my thing is I'm not crazy about raiding. For some reason I prefer harder leveling and having good items be pretty difficult to get. I also enjoy grinding to some degree and love the group dynamic of seeing a group change as members come and go but hanging out in the same spot and getting in a groove with some good players and having fun.

The quest based leveling in WoW just doesn't appeal to me personally. I won't dis the game because it is a lot of fun and it would be retarded to say it sucks because it obviously doesn't. It's just not all that for everyone. Still, I consider all the recent changes in EQ that have been inspired by features of WoW, to be great additions to the game and have made it a better game. Competition is good for the consumer and WoW has made EQ a better game in itself by being so good itself. It's a win/win scenario.

Well, the reasons i feel bad sometimes when i played the game was that it took my time, when i could be doing other things, not only for God, and others, but even myself. Now i know later atnight, i really cant do much but sleep, so then its ok some. I just feel its very time consuming, and while i know the difference between fant. and reality i do often find myself dwelling on just events and things ive done or seen (like when i pvp, or what my toons gear looks like, etc..) just cause it can pass the time. Then i did start to think about the magic and stuff in it, and while i know it is what it is (a game) a scripture comes to mind "avoid the appearance of evil" and "take no delight in evil thing" (paraphrasing stuff, not the 100% scriptures or exact words in order). Meaning if its evil (magic, etc..) wether its a game or movie, dosnt that contradict if we listen and obey the word to the 100% (avoiding the appearance of evil, taking no delight). Im sure we compramise in everyday things, and i know the Magic and junk in this game is fake, cause there not real spells, words, etc.. but we need to be weary about what we are taking in.

Im just saying, watch youself, limit yourself, and if you do play and dont like to be alot of magic involved, id say play a non-magical toon (rogue, war, hunter) some would say priest/pal are ok, but i duno, if i do play it it will be 1 of them 3 i named (i dont play it ATM). I have had a 58 war, 54 priest, 47 rogue and they all took alot of time, some more than others. Like a earler post said i beleave, it is time consuming.

Hope you understand were im coming from, and i would also still like to know if any pentecostals play this game.

Yes, although not intensely. It's pretty fun to get in a huge group and go create some chaos.

I enjoy this game a lot, and still play it today. It's not bad if you don't let it be. I'm a born again christian and this hasn't altered my relationship with God at all.

I like my undead mage, I like my warlock. Have 3 warriors, a rogue, a hunter(yeah yeah I know)

I currently like my mage the most just cause when I play on him I know when I hit 70 I'll be heading over to Darnassus to take care of those hippy night elves. Yes hes evil but hes awesome. Shoulda made a undead warlock named Richard....but idk. Plus sheeping the alliance warriors who for some reason think that just because they are 3 lvls higher than my mage they can hurt me is hilarious. No seriously sheeping them and laughing never gets old, then they try to get in my face and I freeze them and laugh more. Hunters are a bit harder to kill but rogues are the second most fun to kill, they stealth and they ALWAYS go behind you, I hit frost nova and bam they get rooted. I then procede to spam frost bolt and fire blast them til they keel over.


Anyway, no WOW is not evil but the forums sure are. WOW forums are where the real PvP occurs.

just have a group sapping a couple of undead for a while is pretty fun too...

although I don't know if you can do that anymore in the new patch.

I don't think that this game is evil, but so many people get addicted to this game so I think that you will be into the game too much wouldn't have enough time for God/family etc.

For example, my bf's friend's been playing this game for a very long time and they are basically addicted to it and one of them doesn't even have a job!! His day will be, - wake up around 12-1pm, eat something, play that game. One of his friend was a full time uni student and he actually failed his uni course/got kicked out of uni because of this game. They stay up till like 3-4am to play this game.

So please be careful when your playing it because it can be addicted and loose a relationship with God/family/friends etc!
