• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

where my consciousness to escape the linear trappings of words (notice the way this text appears to be moving along a straight line?) and embraces an awareness of the planet's surface, and all the moving parts of the planet (so that I am like an amazing future-predicting Dune hero) and my mind rapidly traces the important causality-loops,

it becomes me to justifiably violently CONQuer THe WORLd! why? to do otherwise results in less freedom, more death, more suffering, in both the long and short term.

my rise to power is violent but justified (by my thinking) because it's like amputating a few fingers to save the whole person

That´s the cloth Holy War and Jihad are made of.

then i'v got news for you: they're going to win.

any soldiers capable of an awareness of the present and future happenings of the entire planet surface have a distinct advantage over their enemies
I wasn´t aware that we were talking about hypothetical non- or super- human entities. We have seen a lot of persons who felt that they had transcended human limitations. The unfortunate part is that you yourself can not conclusively tell whether you are deluded in case of having this impression.
As for humans: The idea that their killings serve a greater good are not dependent on knowledge, but merely on the idea that you have this knowledge. And thus, we typically find this argument brought forth by whoever feels justified to kill whomever.

Is it moraly and ethnicaly correct to take over the world even though some people may die if you make it a better place?
This is essentially a question about ends justifying means. And in this case it quite clearly doesn't.

Ah, this sounds like the manga/anime "Death Note". In the story, the owner of the Death Note magically and secretly kills anyone who he personally judges to be a criminal, thus striking fear into criminals and lowering crime rates. But this is still a reign of terror that takes away national sovereignty, that replaces court systems with a secret and unchallengable "court", and turns the world into a kind of (secret) police state. He quickly finds that he has to kill anyone, even "good" people, who attempt to end his idealistic quest in the name of the different ideals of justice (by fair and open trials with careful procedures) or democracy.

It seems to me that "taking over the world" implies some measure of political oppression, and this would be inconsistant with "making the world a better place". The quality of a society isn't determined by crime rates alone.

I hope you meant "ethically" correct and not "ethnically."

And the answer is no. It's been tried. It doesn't work.

Two posters have now said that it's been tried and does not work. Who exactly has managed to take over the world? And why wasn't I informed?

taking power away from people who could hurt themselves is a bad thing?

Would you not take a toothpick from a child?

Taking power away from people who try to conquer the world is a bad thing?

Would you not take tanks away from Hitler?
