who here has a work in progress? i know not everyone likes talking about what they're working on but i was just curious. what's your basic idea? do you outline? do you plan a length ahead of time? why did you choose to write what you're working on?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I formed my story in my head for a whole year before i wrote anything down. during tht time, the goal of the story remained the same but everything around it changed to something completely different than what it was originally as. i made list of charcyers and maps for the story and even they are ot the same as the ones i made in 7th grade. i chose to write this instead of other stories in my head becuase of its colorful and often contrastful characters, its beautiful settings, and its strong, honest, all round goodguys who never loose their faith as my main characters.

I write, in short, to let my soul bleed on paper. No outline; the idea of outlines is good for some, but for others the first draft should function for most as a means of getting your subconscious off your chest, and revision is there for a clearer sense of direction, or to change something that doesn't quite fit.

Dont make a quick rough draft of your work. I garantee you it'll be completly different from the finished edition. get your main goals and starting points and revolve everything around that, it'll all fall into place.
