• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am saving everything. the POST-ITS, the emails, the pictures they draw, and anything else I can get my hands on. Unfortunately, there is a rule of the NYSE and most companies that deal with the Stock Market. Anything that happens has to stay in the company and get resolved within the company through arbitration. That is why the only firm really able to sue and mandate laws is the SEC against a firm, and believe it or not the SEC has no laws in place to handle this type of situation, just HIRING DISCRIMINATION LAWS. Oh yeah as I am typing this, they just hung a beanie baby up on a desk with a paper above it that says , "The PASSION OF THE BEANIE BABY".
I pray in a prayer group with my pastor, my fiance, the pastor's daughter, and a few others. We pray all the time for this....And the pastor had some visions that I will start my own firm and make millions (I've already done that, but that was while I was Catholic, and I lost alot of money cause I was a bad boy...spending it on parties and renting exotic cars, spending $3000 in a single night at CLUB EXIT in NYC and so on...). But hopefully, this will happen soon, but I have to stay here until this vision becomes true i guess.

I didn't realize drugs were part of the problem. Personally I'd refuse to stay in an environment like that, even if I had to take a serious pay cut to move on. I think legal action is justified if you want to pursue that option, and either way you should definitely be documenting who/what/when & any witnesses present. However, whatever you decide to do, I stand by my earlier advice to toughen up. There will be bullies of one kind or another wherever you go, so you have to learn how to make yourself a less inviting target.

I did it. They cracked up! It was interesting. They didnt take badly or as backlash. They took it as a joke.

My co-Workers are going to a stripbar after work. They actually asked me to go. Should I go? participate? If i say no, they will for sure say, "OH CHRISTIAN BOY CANT GO!!!!" And I will feel the pain and retribution. What do you guys think?>

And if you do go they'll never let you live it down. How can you be sure they're not setting you up for that very purpose? "Seeee, Christian boy isn't everything he claims. He came to that strip bar with us." It's a tough situation, but I think you could end up really regretting it if you go. Try to turn them down nonchalantly, not like it's a big traumatic deal.

Good for you! Praise God it went well. Luckily its too late for me to offer advice about the strip club because I have no idea how to handle that. Although I suppose you could go if only to witness to the strippers. In my younger years I went to a fair number of strip joints and never saw a "CHRISTIAN BOY" ministering to the strippers. Who knows?

I would in close quarters (the same room) as other individuals, who oppose religion altogether. I get cracked on probably every few minutes, over 100 times day, about my eithics and my beliefs. It gets really brutal sometimes, where they say some really obscene things and cruel things. I am new at the job, and it pays well 70k per year, and it took me 1 year to get this job so I need it badly. They come up with facts and so on why Jesus either didnt exist, or God doesnt exist and so much more. Sometimes I get hit so bad from all angles that I want to cry in tears. I cant go to Human Resources because they have seniority and I will most likely lose my job. How do I handle this? I dont preach to them or even mention God, I simply stay to my thoughts, but they enjoy harassing me and it never gets boring for them. I have no idea what to do...Please someone help.
Hugbabyboy, I've been there myself. It's much worse now where I used to work, which was for the Federal Government. The environment has gotten so sterile. Fortunately, when I was there we could still keep Bibles and other personal items as long as we weren't "preaching" or what have you. I'm hoping in the 16 plus years I worked for the Forest Service that I impacted someone with my ministry. My past supervisor was not a believer, but the supervisor before her was. I was so blessed. However, the Lord didn't see fit to keep me there and was urging me to leave in 2002 when my past supervisor did. He works in strange ways. All we can do is to pray that you break through to someone He nudges. You'll certainly be blessed. :)

God Bless.

Bonnie
