Working with clay, tying it into the verse from Isaiah?

I'm still not done with rally day. I have no clue what to do. We didn't get a speaker. Nobody helped. Can anybody write up something like what it's like working with clay and how it isn't set until the potter decides kind of how like God is always molding us? I figured I might as well ask. I'd just like something really short that somebody could read. It could be just a little paragraph or a type of devotional. Whatever may work.

Three clay activities that we'll have:
Mirrors and clay "made in God's image"
just clay "something out of nothing"
Small items in clay "Sins being forgiven."

Could anybody help?

Thanks,
Bridget

thanks for that, but it is tomorrow (8/28/05) that I'll need this. . .I think I've come up with something that at least explains the activities and I'll post it here to let you know what I've written. . .if you think there's something I should included if you see it before Sunday, go ahead and put it in. . .I might see it.

Here's what I've got:

Isaiah 64:8 says “Yet, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.” Today we gather together for the beginning of Sunday school where we ask God to use teachers to help mold us into the people God wants us to be by learning His Word.

There are three stations, each with an activity for learning. Hopefully you will spend a little bit of time at each station. First, there is the station called “SOON - Something Out Of Nothing.” In Genesis, it says that God formed man out of dirt. If you look at dirt, you'll see that there are different colors and different textures. As you know, everybody has skin that is different. God creates life out of seemingly nothing. There are all different types of clay – clay that needs water to be molded, modeling clay, and play dough. Here feel free to create whatever you want to create out of the clay that is available.

The second station is called, “MIHI (“my high”) – Made In His Image.” In Genesis, it says that God made man in his image. At this station, along with the different types of clay, there are mirrors. Here is the place to try to sculpt the figure of a human by looking at yourself in the mirror.

The third station is called, “*** (“foss”) - Forgiveness Of Sins.” If you look at any dirt, you know that it is never pure. There's always something like bugs or rocks in it. Sins are like human impurities, yet when we ask God for forgiveness, He forgives us and cleanses us from sin. At this station, you can work with the different types of clay, but only after the “impurities” (they are only beads in the clay) are removed. With them in is how we really are, but after you remove them is how God sees us when we ask for forgiveness.
