Working on a Sunday

oh boy, here we go...
truthseeker the SDA is here to tell us how we are so wrong (mark of the beast I think it is) for worshipping on Sunday versus Saturday.
this topic is very tired truthseeker.
Sunday worship was good enough for the Apostles, so its good enough for me!

We can't "change'" a Sabbath. Did Jesus make compromise to himself and said that this Saturday he would not rested himself but he would do it on wednesday ? No.

Remember that Sabbath is for the beggining of the Earth not an after law.

It is important that God created all the thing in 6 days and the seven day HE rested himself. Sabbath is at the creation not after.

Try to read more about the meaning of the sabbath if you want to have a clear idea of the question

I understand that you have good intentions. However, good intentions are not enough for the Lord. Remember, Schae7, it is a command from Jesus. He asked us to keep the 7th day not a 7th day. Jesus is our Master and we are His servants. Can the servant rule the Master?

There is only one Sabbath (Saturday). There can not be any other. Jesus spoke it and wrote it with His own fingers.

Did you know Sunday sanctity was invented by the Catholic church? Did you know that the Catholic Church at one time kept the true Sabbath (Saturday)? So when you decide to keep Sunday in place of the true Sabbath you have put the tradition of man in place of your service or duty to Jesus.

It is not wrong to worship on Sunday Who told you that ?? Not SDA , they are not saying it that way. . We can worship on any day of the WEEK. However God himself as established a SPECIAL day to rest and Honor him.

I agree with all that you have just said and I never said to go against what the bible teaches. All I said is that if you choose to, the least you can do is set aside a day for our Lord.

If you would really want to follow it , you wouldn't go for compromise , Because if you do it one , you will do it again and again.

are you saying that the SDA doctrine is not that Sunday worship is the "mark of the beast" ?

The thing about sunday worship is that people think right now that this is the "New" Sabbath so they are depending on that to not do the Sabbath. However , Sunday worship , Monday worship , Saturday worship is great ect ... It is not the worship thing but the "special day worship" who is the question. This is the Sda thing in a simple answer. But why don't go to a SDA church one time and just simply as those question to a pastor. With that your mind would be clear. That's what I did with a priest and pastor and it help to have a clear idea after.

I understand what you are saying. However, like CrossMovement said: Jesus is not a God of compromise. We should, as Christians, never encourage another to compromise. This can cause them to stumble.

All Churches with valid Apostolic Succession (Catholic and EO) do consider Sunday to be the Lords Day in fullfilment of the sabbath and we take Sunday as our day of rest.
Are we then the "Mark of the beast" ?

I don't believe I'm encouraging compromise. I didn't say anyone should choose to work on Sunday. I clearly said that the bible is what should be followed. I am encouraging a day of worship for the Lord if the choice of working on Sunday has already been made.

I don't want to answer that question because i'm not here for that (But if you want to know if this is the mark of the beast , I suggest you to go and ask those question to a priest and pastor) . But read your bible and go ask those question to a priest and Pastor and then after make up your mine. Study the sabbath question attentively with a person you trust and after take your argument and go ask it to a priest and a pastor. You'll see that your mind you'll be clear after. But you got to be prepare to , you got to know the subject (I think that you know many thing about the sabbath , but ask it to a priest and pastor)

Hi geocajun,

Long time no see. A few posts back, I believe, it seemed that you had enough of our conversation and so you said that you would not return. However, I guess that you missed me.

As you know, the Bible like Jesus doesn't change, so I can only use the same points in the good old Book (the Bible) to lift up the Sabbath (Saturday, the Lord's day).

You can look from Genesis to Revelation and not find a command from Jesus or any of His disciples to change the Sabbath or to void it. Or can you?

May I ask what you guys think about Hospitals, Firedepartments, Emergency Services being open on the Sabbath? Do you think they should all close on the Sabbath? And because you believe that the Sabbath is a "special day" and a specific time, a fact that is not in dispute, why is ok to observe it on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday? Regardless of the day Jesus was raised the previous command was for Saturday. What makes the difference to you?

Hi Schae7,

By all means they should remain open.

The difference to me Schae7 is that Jesus said it. I will not kill because Jesus said not to. I will not commit adultry because Jesus said not to. Schae7, Jesus' 10 Commandments are so simple to understand, right? Why is there a big mystery behind the 4th commandment? Because the enemy (Satan) would have it to be so. You see, you could keep the other 9 commandments and still be a pagan. It is the 4th commandment that identifies our Creator Jesus as the Creator. It calls for our worship. Satan hates this, because he wants our worship so he figured that he would have us hurt Jesus by having man tamper with this particular commandment.

The issue here is about true worship. Jesus is particular. When He had His servant intruct Namaan to dip in the muddy waters 7 times, He withheld the cure of the leprosy until Namaan did indeed dip the 7th time.

Why are you dodging my question? You are in fact pushing your churches doctrine (SDA) on Christians who are keeping on the constant traditions of the Church, but when asked for you to tell us the entire SDA doctrine - which states that our worship on Sunday means we are one of the "Marks of the beast" you are afraid to answer.
If its what you beleive then stand up for it!

We do not keep the Jewish sabbath which Christ Jesus fullfiled, we keep the Lords Day as a day of rest. The Day which Christ Jesus rose!
