  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Despite the negativity in life, we have our Lord Jesus within us who will not leave us, nor forsake us. Isn't He wonderful?
He is, but I also think He may be the Dean of the School of Hard Knocks .. e.g. Hebrews 12:7-11. This, of course, makes Him the loving Father that He is, and the Fulfiller (is that a word?) of the many great and wondrous promises that He's made to those of us who are His own .. e.g. Romans 8:28 :)

So it's easy to understand why Pastor/Theologian Charles Spurgeon was finally able to say this about the things that he suffered in this life: "I've learned to kiss the waves that throw me up against the Rock of Ages".

--David

"Our vision is so limited we can hardly imagine a love that does not show itself in protection from suffering.... The love of God did not protect His own Son.... He will not necessarily protect us - not from anything it takes to make us like His Son. A lot of hammering and chiseling and purifying by fire will have to go into the process." ~Missionary Elisabeth Elliot (her quote in my signature line below is excellent as well :))
