CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I meant Hollywood, Mississippi. Hollywoodland was the name used in California to get around the fact that there was already another Hollywood, but it was quickly shortened to Hollywood and it has become synonymous with California and not Mississippi.

Hollywood, California is famous for what goes on there, obviously. What is Hollywood, Mississippi famous for, and since it was the first city named "Hollywood", do you know why the city fathers chose that name? (I'm always interested in learning my "something new" for the day )
Also, you may be interested to know (I was) that there are many cities in the US named "Hollywood" (see the map below), as well cities in six other countries

Hollywood, Mississippi, as with several of its cousins, was named for the abundance of wild holly growing there. Its chief claim to fame, such as it is, is the Burrus Plantation (The Baby Doll House) which has gone from complete dereliction to lovely restoration under the present ownership of Eustace Burrus, the direct descendant of the builder.
