it was a bottom A (the lowest and awesomest note available on my beloved bari) ... *shivers* i can feel the vibrations now!

(PS bari and alto are in Eb, tenor and soprano are in Bb )

nah, it would be a C 2 octaves below middle C in concert pitch (ie. on your guitar).

hehe! i know how to tune... whether i actually get around to tuning is another issue altogether

did your husband teach? alto is my main sax (i actually have one of those). bari's are too expensive for me at the moment (bout $10000 for a new one, and that's not even for a good brand!). i played bari for 3 years in school, he was my baby and will always be my one true love i had to give him back tho coz he belonged to the school . his name was BAZZA. we actually screwed a number plate onto the case that said BAZZA! *sigh* memories...

ROFL! Yep! My husband used to teach all musical instrument. The Sax being his mainly loved instrument. He had his own Dance Band ( I was the drummer ) And, he was a Bandmaster!
He played a Cohn alto . Magnificent...........

(i assume you meant that he played a 'Conn' alto). i have a yanagisawa semi-pro alto sax. not as good as i'd like but it's pretty awesome for what i can afford.

i want a saxophone like this one! it's a subcontrabass sax - not actually recognised as a sax. it's not pitched properly and was originally designed as a stage prop. it's nice to dream though...

Hey Mark, when I tried to sing in my kids band once they told me to go away cos I was Vflat! Hmmph!
