Nice work! My only experience with woodburning was trying to mount a soldering iron in my lathe so I could burn a series of rings into a piece of wood. I remember two things: 1) that an unexpectedly high degree of finesse was required to achieve good results, and 2) I burned my finger...

Hi I am new and I am not sure I am even on the right place. Not used to useing computers to get answers to daunting tasks I have undertaken. My name is Win Tatro. My wife Sue and I live in the Baja Mexico and work with interdenominational mission projects here. Mostly with Rancho Sordo Mudo which I have been the VP for 35 years now. Recently both the Director and his wife have passed on to be with our Lord. My need or want is to HOW TO PUT THEIR PICTURES ON WOOD USING PYROGRAPHY??? I have NO books on the subject, not sure which ones would be good, or where or what to get. I do have some wood burning tools that I got a bit ago, 4 pens in all, that can be heated up to quite high. Someone told me the 4 most used ones.
My Question is" How do I put these Missionaries picture from the picture I now have in color, and black and white, onto something that I can transfer it to wood? Is that possible? Please help. I LOVE your work. When it is not so late I want to go back to your site & read everything. The cottage is very pretty & inviting. I have only "begun" my woodburning hobby & maybe someday I will have something my kids will enjoy. I did a few pretty nice watercolors (most people think they are) . I presented my daughter with one for her office & she gave it back to me !!! Guess I have a lot of practice ahead of me. Thanks for sharing your hobby.

Every so often I do some woodburning project. I like to decorate wood items with a touch of art. (not my main thing, but I enjoy it now and then)

Didn't know it was called 'pyrography' though.

I did wood burning in school once, I made a picture of a fire.

Your work is very good. My husband and I have taken on 2 small projects. We made a gun rack together out of a raw plank of pine bark and some deer antlers. I drew out the design, we both carved it out then I wood burned the design and gave it some color. It is not nearly as nice as your work but it is special to me because we did it together.
