Finally, as a matter of interest, is it wrong for two (or more) men, two (or more) women, or an unmarried man and woman, to touch in the same room (with one another's knowledge) without touching one another?

Yes, very wasteful. Waste not want not.

As a warmup it is ok however.

A Christian who says homosexuality isn't wrong is no more hypocritical than a Christian who eats prawns.

Don't know about that. After isn't it what comes out of a mans mouth that makes him unclean, not what goes in it?

Of course in the context of a discussion of homosexuality that one might get me in a lot of trouble.

On the serious side, the hate that comes out of the mouths of some 'Christians' seems to me to fit that one line of scripture pretty well.

I don't have a source right now but I read briefly once about some studies being done about it. They talked about universal human aversion to feces and evolutionary traits. Aversion to feces is a natural phenomenon and as we have witnessed the ease with which disease and infection are passed and caused by sodomy evolutionary aversion is a reasonable inference at this point.
The CDC reports that 40% of adult men have had anal sex with a female partner (a number born out by a similar percentage of women report having had anal sex with a man).

On a serious note I think that male homosexuals are highlighted for one simple reason. Fear. It really is homophobia in men. Lesbians pose no threat because they don't want to do anything to us. If anything, that just makes us want to try harder to have sex with them. They are still women afterall, we'll want to have sex with them no matter which way they swing. That, and the possibility of a three way always exists.

Male homosexuals on the other hand could possiby want to put something up our bum. Not that many male homosexuals would want to since straight guys tend to be pretty skanky. But the possibility exists. Personally, any day in which I do not get stabbed, shot, have something up my butt or really have any foriegn object enter my body (splinters included) in any manner is considered a success.

For the straight guys out there picture this. Your standing in line when a large man gets behind you. He brushes up against you and you can feel the stubble from his chin on your neck. He puts one large hand on your hip and the other in your pocket. In a deep husky voice he whispers "Those pants would look great on my floor." If imagining that didn't make your skin crawl, then you're probabbly gay. If that had been described as a woman and she said "My girlfriend and I think you should come back to our place." you'd already have your fly halfway undone.

Well, that kind of depends on the guy with his hand in my pocket. Ron Jeremy would be shudder worthy. David Boreanaz on the other hand...

Yes, Cantana women getting in on is a hot turn on for me even though I think it is a sin.

That sucks for you, I guess!

I thought you weren't supposed to use sin for your entertainment.

I find lesbianism to be pretty neat and gay men to be pretty discusting--but both are sinful.

they are both equally discusting.

"Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire" (Jude 1:7)

I find it interesting how the gay community seems to have this "free card" when mocking christianity, creating banners mocking the last supper(Folsom street fair), yet anyone who follows the bible or is against their lifestyle is a "homophobe"..

Whos the hypocrite again??

It didnt make my skin crawl, but Im still not gay. Then again, my gay friends are famous for coming up to me, patting my bum and saying "Hey sugar."

Not to mention, given Im pushing seven feet tall, if anyone can rub their chin on my neck Im taking them out for a drink immediately so we can comiserate about rooms that arent big enough and not being able to find nice clothes.

Maybe it's because you can't choose not to be gay, but you can choose not to be a homophobic, self-righteous, right-wing fundamentalist Christian with no sense of humour.

because I don't justify it?

Why would I justify something that cuts people off from God's grace? I don't care if the whole world calls me a homophobe, I still will not justify sin.

Id rather seem unpleasant to someone and have them rather hear the truth, rather than seem pleasant and confirm someone in their sin.

The ACT in itself is very depraved and intrinsically evil. Just as all sin is.

No one's asking anyone to justify it. No one's under no obligation to have gay sex. What would be nice, though, is if right-wing Christians would leave gay people alone, and let them have their marriage rights, adoption rights &c.

Do you think that your seeming unpleasant makes the slightest bit of difference to anyone else's attitude?

It would be better for all concerned if you live and let live. Since it makes no 'positive' difference to gay people what you say about them, it seems to me that calling them sinful and their behaviour disgusting is nothing more than you scoring brownie points with the Almighty, and I'm sure he knows your mind very well. There's no need to tell everyone else about it.

I don't think we're ever going to get a discussion about homosexuality that seriously includes lesbians and bisexual wimmin, for a lot of reasons.

1-our society is still far too uncomfortable with wimmin's sexuality.
2-our outdated concept of masculinity means some people have to obsess over the idea of two men together.
3-we're so open about flaunting straight male sexuality, so the fact that most heterosexual men fantasise about two women together means it has to be projected onto society at large. Whatever theoretical moral issues are involved, straight white men still control the world, so their sexual fantasies still impose themselves on everyone.

The only area where we might get a serious discussion is the aspect of homosexual wimmin's relationships that rejects male control. Sex is so important in men's control over wimmin that to remove it is a great offence to patriarchy.

If I justify someone in their sin, I am partly responsible. Because I am encouraging something. God admonished the prophets for not warning the people, and he said that if the prophets did not warn them, that their own blood would be on their shoulders. Its like letting someone get in a car knowing that the brakes don't work. If you don't tell them that the brakes don't work you are partly responsible for them dying..

Did you miss the part where I said that no one is asking you to justify anyone in their sin?
