  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

So this is a new one to me. Went to get the mail this morning and I found in my letterbox an 8 page, double sided photocopy of handwritten Christian witness (its anonymous). I wont go into too many details beyond mention that the person that wrote this and some of his family have personally met Jesus, and travelled to both Heaven and Hell, for instance...

"I saw Almighty God Lord Jesus Christ was sitting on the gold throne. He had worn a yellow golden robe, he has long curly hair, brown colour up to his shoulder length. He has a bit of beard, a glowing skin. He looks perfect."

Anyhoo, I've experienced alot of different witnessing types in my life, but never been the recipient of a (photocopied), mail box dropped 16 page testimony. Is this a once off? A new thing? Or just something more common that just hasn't happened to me until now?

Well, since you asked so nicely...

"My mother a week before she died her spirit was taken to a lake of Fire in Hell. Stated there were alot of people was in the Fire. They were yelling out, and Satans had tried to pull her into the Fire* Then she passed away a week after <date supplied> Only God knows about her spirit right now"

* At this point there's a ^ with the extra line "Then Lord Jesus appeared and said you need to pray!"

Note: Direct transliteration provided, spelling and grammar issues included

I'm guessing you should get ready for a follow-up. Maybe asking for money or for a following...

That's what's technically known as a "wrinkle". A niche marketing technique.

Sadly all my google attempts bring up anti-aging creams. Have you got a link to explain it? (or in your own words).

It's a sales term. It's slang. If you have a group of door to door salesmen out drumming up business and one of them decides to set up a booth at the county fair to generate leads it's called a "wrinkle".

you lost me at "photocopied", nothing personal or about that. If the photocopied handwritten account with a cause you didn't value or support what would you think about it then? so why is this any different?

It was a photocopied handwritten account with a cause I neither value nor support. As to how it is different, well, as I said, it's the first time it's happened to me, but if 16 page photocopies of handwritten testimony dropped in mailboxes is common in your area, that would add some context to the story.

Jehovah witnesses have been sending out handwritten letters in my area instead of knocking on doors. I thew the letter I received in the trash, but was convicted weeks later when one of my neighbors said she's been corresponding, even developing a penpal type relationship, and is trying to share the gospel through the mail. it never crossed my mind to take advantage of the opportunity until then.

The hand written part feel personable but the mass copy of said hand written account turns into a gimmick to catch you're attention. Treat it like any other gimmick or a glorified brochure/sales pitch. The biggest tell is what do they want? At the very least they must have some contact information to follow up that will reveal their intentions. Or what is the purpose of this account? What is their cause? The gospel needs to be told as wide and as far as possible so how does this photocoped hand written letter fit into reaching people for the gospel? Why not attach a copy of the letter in the thread? Feel free to black marker the areas you think are sensitive but it was mass mailed so aside from any personal info of yourself the rest of it seems fair game. Try "googling" a line from from it in quotations. The quotations will find exact matches only but don't do something too long and try something short but unique. Maybe it didn't originate as a hand written account.

That is not a witness, that is some self imagined balderdash.

If a believer was witnessing, their sole focus would be pointing to The Messiah (Jesus) and that God is offering person the free gift of Eternal Life. By faith in the promised Messiah that all who trust in The Messiah for Eternal Life will receive God's free gift of Eternal Life. and then should have a few verse from The Bible specifically from The Gospel of John stating this truth.

John 3:14,15 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 6:47 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.

This is amazing idea.
I think I might seen something similar in 90’s, when internet wasn’t everywhere.

But is this off topic question?
Im just thinking is it truly biblical to see hell and come back to life?
