James 3:15-17 (NASB)
This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic.
For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing, But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.
Scripture puts forth there are two kinds of wisdom, each putting forth it’s appropriate fruit... One earthy, one Divine...
All that is put forth as wisdom manifests itself as one or the other....It is earthly, it is human, if it elevates self, if it elevates the I and not Christ.... Where it has self as it’s object and maker.....
But the wisdom that comes from above has a different source, it can not be forced....It comes from above as a gift... Scripture says; “in His light do we see light”.... It is in this light, is the Divine wisdom found, known, seen and experienced....In the light that He gives to the heart is the wisdom that comes from above to the hearts intimacy with Him... This wisdom and intimacy can not be faked... For the day will manifest it for what it is....
For there is a touchstone for the wisdom that comes from above and that is first of all it is pure....Meaning it is singular, meaning it is the manifestation of love, righteousness and truth, it is therefore without hypocrisy, there are no hidden motives... The expression of all good things is it’s only goal, the expression of love and truth and righteousness, the expression of the purity that is Christ...
Than because it is pure and free from all hypocrisy it is able to show forth the glory of what it is in itself..
That is, it is gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering.....
Unwavering, for it is founded in the love of God....
It never changes, for it itself is truth, it itself is life, it will stand the test of time... Undefeatable by all, for it is the expression of what God is in Himself...
It is that that frees one to serve God with a clear, clean and honest heart...It is the food for the soul...It is that which causes growth....It lays no burden, but encourages one to lay their life down willingly before the Throne of Grace... To buy the pearl of great price at it’s asking price...Which is all of the life of self that Christ might have the preeminence in all things...
That He who sets on the Throne of Grace would work in the life...
Be blessed all in His working...
