I see.

and the other is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, representing the devil...satan. Also the serpent is another representation of Satan, and we can see these same descriptions used later...so it is imperative that we know what these mean.

Satan?

The angels in the bible are either working for God or working for Satan. The ones working for Satan are referred to as the fallen angels or the sons of God.

Wait. So. Sorry I am confused as we have that same story over here. Satan is the devil right? And his oni and his demons where once fallen angels? Is this a literal story or metaphorical as well.

If your God is all knowing, he should know this already. Seems kind of evil of him.

Hello, Hideki. Welcome to CF (...relatively new, anyway).

I'm glad to see you're willing to look into Christianity! I know Japan isn't extremely conducive to it.

Just read the Bible for what it is, my friend. When you start saying "Well, this story doesn't look real..." then you start creating your own religion!
The only times in the Bible where it doesn't literally mean what it says is when a person is giving a prophecy or seeing a vision.

Genesis does not have either characteristic: there is no prophecy, and no one is having a vision. It is completely a retelling of events, like a history.

I encourage you to start with the New Testament where Jesus comes into play: It's more important at first to see how Christianity affects your life than to understand all the little nuances.
