  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Here are some from just the other day. We've had some intense snow storms for the whole of Christmas vacation, and was finally able to get out to an airport last week to take a couple of shots. I was hoping to take some friends and family flying sometime in the last two weeks, but unfortunately haven't had a single decent flying day! Of course, now that school starts tomorrow, the weather will be getting better.

Here are some from my house...

This one is actually of my neighbors home in the nice fresh snow.

Here is a big Maple tree alongside our driveway.

Then our little snow-covered windmill. :)

These next ones were taken at the airport I fly out of, just wondering around when I was there last week.

Cessna 185.

And that same MiG-17 again...

Enjoy. :)

I love snow! Russian two-seat MiG-17 Fresco is my favorite of the planes. That one really pops.

The first picture is probably my favorite of the others. The snow covered trees really dwarf the house. It has the feel of a postcard.

Do you ever have trouble with your lens fogging up due to moving from warm to the cold outside?

Thanks, everyone! Obtaining the photos of the airplanes was a little uncomfortable, having to practiaclly wade through 4 inches of very wet slush... but was worth the shot, I feel.

Lisah - I didn't have any fogging issues in those pictures at all. I left my camera gear in the car over night. :p Oops. I put my camera and lens through a lot...

On other pictures, however, I have had serious fog issues. Once I noticed it I just turned the camera off, removed the battery and waited for it to clear.

Thank you. I occasionally spot at BFI. Usually it's only while the Blue Angels are in town, for obvious reasons. It's just too far away from where I live to go down there on a regular basis.

Paine Field, however, is only about a 30 minute drive away and during the week day it is quite busy with freshly assembled 747, 767, and 777s. I fly out of Arlington and, as you'll see in my other topic, there is quite a variety of aircraft to shoot up there on the weekends.

I tend to enjoy the smaller airfields more. Since I fly out of a lot of them, they hold a special place in my heart so I like to photograph them most often.

I've gotten to where I enjoy the small airfields more myself. I am about 60 miles away from KNFW and KAFW where the military jets are, but I'm about 1/2 a mile away from KADS, which is one of the busier private airports, lots of Gulfstreams and Cessna's there. If I get bored I head out to either KDAL or KDFW and shoot the commercials.

I like how the dark clouds appear so menacing, yet the sunlight peeks through just enough to create a bit of an interesting contrast.

Your plane pics are the best though.
