Windows 8--need advice

Ok, so now I have a problem with Windows8

Under windows vista and windows xp, I can have multiple windows. Each window has multiple tabs.

For example, I can have a window (the one you see at the bottom of the screen) on sports and that window has 3 tabs-eg: tab for rugby, tab for football, tab for cricket

Then I can have another window on forums and can have 2 tabs eg: tab for food forum and tab for christianforums

Then I can have another window on weather and can have 4 tabs eg: tab for New york weather, tab for Asian weather and so on


So far for windows 8, all I get is just tabs. Can windows 8 have both windows and tabs at the same time? And if so, how to do it?

Right click your taskbar and hit options.

Find the Taskbar buttons menu on that first tab and click "never combine"

Hit apply, OK, and enjoy.

For some odd reason not all applications combine their tabs, regardless if you choose "always combine, hide labels" in the taskbar properties. Not sure if this is the fault of the various software developers or Windows 8. All the Microsoft applications I tried worked just fine, but some popular titles like Photoshop Elements 10, JetAudio and IBM Lotus Symphony didn't.
