  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The problem for most, if not all of us is that after we think we have released our will to God, we go running back to pick it up again. It is not easy, especially for those of us who are the "all is under our control" types, (me included). It is a gradual process of really delving into how God has done his will through all, no matter if we wanted Him to or not. Once I accepted that God was, is, and will continue to have His will done through us as His people it made it easier for me to let it go. Sometimes I still have problems with relinquishing my will on certain things, but nowadays my problem has been knowing and understanding God's will for my life and areas of my life.
As a7chris pointed out
Isaiah 1:19
"If you consent and obey,
You will eat the best of the land;"
And I would also like to add Isaiah 1:20
""But if you refuse and rebel,
You will be devoured by the sword."
Truly the mouth of the Lord has spoken"
Although this passage was written to account for and confront the sins of Isreal and Judah, I believe (correct me if I am wrong), I believe it is wise to apply it to the relinquishing of our wills to God since to not do the will of God is to be sinful.

Always in prayer,
Carmen
