Who are the William Faulkner fans here? What do you think about this southern author? Which of his works do you like the most? How have his works affected your life? Please feel free to make other comments as well. Enjoy.

I've only read one Faulkner book, and, well, I hated it. 11th AP Lit has to read the book. (I read it for a book report in 10th grade.) As I Lay Dying. Perhaps, it just isn't his best work. I'm not going to judge Faulkner based on this book. Are his other works different? Perhaps you can suggest a better Faulkner book to me so that I may get a better impression of him as an author??

I just read "A Rose for Emily" in my english class. It was a strange short story. I would have enjoyed it more reading it on my own verses reading it in a room full of mixed sexes. His language is harsh, but real for the time era. Overall, I hated the story at first, but after I wrote a paper on it I started to like it. I haven't read anything else by Faulkner yet, but I'm going to.
