I think this is a good forum for this...
"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." Matthew 7:21
For, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 3:13 (Joel 2:32 says And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the LORD has said, even among the survivors whom the LORD calls.)
So in one passage, Jesus says that not everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved, but Paul and Joel say that they will be saved. Now, I understand that in Matthew, Jesus was referring to the teachers of the law who claimed to know God but didn't truly follow Him, but it still seems contradictory to me.
Can someone please help explain this to me?
