  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hell is Real, I went there! by Jennifer Perez

The part from there that I wanted to ask a question about was the "And then I looked around and I saw my friends, people that I knew, and other people. They looked familiar but I didn't know who they were. I didn't know their lives, but when I saw friends from my school there, it hurt me!. I though to myself, "maybe the bad testimony that I was giving them, of saying that I was a Christian but turning back, made them not want to know about God, and turn away from Him. Maybe it was me that brought them their". That's what I thought. I saw that in Hell there is no time, there is no past, present, future, everything is the same, they are destined to go their. But like I said in the beginning, I don't want to make up any doctrine, but that is what I saw their. The people that I saw there are still alive today. "

What do you feel/think about that?

I don't believe in her testimony because it does not jive with the bible. The author said that while she was in Hell she saw demons tourturing people. Contrary to popular belief Satan does not rule Hell and demons do not touture people in Hell. Satan and his demons are currently on earth, they are not even in Hell. In the end God will send; death, hell, Satan, demons, and those who rejected God, into the lake of fire and and brimestone. Therefore the author's testimony is a lie, it contradicts the bible.

Most of this is found in Revelations, and it is written plainly.

What about Lazarus? The rich man was sent into Hell and he looked up and saw Lazarus in Heaven being comforted while he was in Hell, being tormented. And I think Satan and his demons are on earth, but there in their spiritual realms as well, because it says in 2 Corinthian 11:14 (NKJV) "And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light." So in order for him to do that, he needs to have some sorta spiritual body and be living in some sort of spiritual realm, right?

Luke 16:19-26 (New International Version)

The Rich Man and Lazarus

19"There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. 22"The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23In hell,[a] where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.'
25"But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.'

This is the second one of these 'I've been to hell' accounts I've come across, and while I certainly believe in hell as the literal punishment of the reprobate, I don't believe their account.

If you recall, the Apostle Paul was taken up to the third heaven but wasn't allowed by God to tell anyone what happened.

I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago--whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows--such a one was caught up to the third heaven.

And I know such a man--whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows-- how he was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. Of such a one I will boast; yet of myself I will not boast, except in my infirmities. For though I might desire to boast, I will not be a fool; for I will speak the truth. But I refrain, lest anyone should think of me above what he sees me to be or hears from me. And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. [2 Cor 12:2-7 NKJV

If God won't allow Paul to tell what he experienced, it's highly unlikely that He's going to allow someone else to go to either heaven or hell and return to tell about it.

The passage says that the rich man was being tormented but it does not say that the torment was caused by demons. Remeber demons rejected God. God will not reward demons and Satan by letting them have their own realm where they get to have fun by tormenting people. Satan and his demons will be tormented themsleves for the sins they have committed.

The images in the vision seem to resemble a person's imagination of what hell is like rather than the Biblical description. Perhaps this young girl was in a drug induced state, was feeling guilty, fell asleep and had a dream. We need to bring the law and the Gospel to people. We do not need to try to scare them into saying some sinner's prayer (which isn't Scriptural either). In the Scriptures when people bring the Gospel, it's always about Jesus and what He did, not about their own personal experience filled with emotional manipulation. There is also the possibility that this story is a complete invention. Years ago there were people who were claiming that God was turning their teeth gold. Eventually a reporter tracked down the dentist who was giving people these false gold teeth. When the charistmatic minister was eventually confronted with the lies he was telling, he said that he just wanted to show people that God can do miracles.
