I have doubts and little faith and sometimes doubt if he is real or not but ask him to forgive me of my sins and come into my heart and change me despite my doubts. Will this make me a christian?

Becoming a "Christian" will not save you. Christianity is a man made, fallible religion, just like any other. If you want to be saved, simply look at what Jesus said when asked:

25And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

26He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

27And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

28And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

No one can tell you if you will be saved. That is God's decision and His alone. Just as noone can tell another they are going to hell. Again, if it's eternal life you seek, the answer has been provided for you. Now, see if your thinking is in line with that. If it is, there ya go. If its not, repent (meaning to change your thinking) and do as He said.

answer your own question! it is by grace we are saved through faith. can you have faith in someone if you don't believe that they are real?

Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Heb 11:2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
Heb 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Heb 11:4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
Heb 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Heb 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
Heb 11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
Heb 11:9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
Heb 11:10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
Heb 11:11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
Heb 11:12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
Heb 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
Heb 11:14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
Heb 11:15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
Heb 11:16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
Heb 11:17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
Heb 11:18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:
Heb 11:19 Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.
Heb 11:20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
Heb 11:21 By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.
Heb 11:22 By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.
Heb 11:23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.
Heb 11:24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
Heb 11:25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
Heb 11:26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
Heb 11:27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
Heb 11:28 Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
Heb 11:29 By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.
Heb 11:30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.
Heb 11:31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
Heb 11:32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:
Heb 11:33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
Heb 11:34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
Heb 11:35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
Heb 11:36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
Heb 11:37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
Heb 11:38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
Heb 11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
Heb 11:40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

You're a Christian when you believe that He was raised from the dead and you confess Him as Lord. By virtue of this, in regards to His resurrection, you obviously must believe that He exists; that He is alive. I would say that is a bare minimum, but that doesn't get you in the door. You must also confess Him as Lord. That doesn't mean, you just say those words and move on. It means you have turned your life over to Him and that He is the Lord of your life.

You're confessing a doublemindedness about Christ, so what is the major issue? What is preventing you from believing that Jesus Christ is sitting at the right hand of the Father, in Heaven, at this very moment? Whatever it is, give it to Him.

As I said in the other thread, you need to understand how much you need Him. You need to understand that without Him, you will not escape the judgment to come. You need to lay your pride at the foot of His cross and surrender to Him completely. Lay down all of your arguments and reasons and everything in your mind which tells you the lie that He isn't there. Submit to His will and you will find life.

What stands in the way of most unbelievers from giving their lives to Christ are the influences that created their doubt and unbelief. If you continue to give yourself to those influences, i.e. the secular (godless) media (books, movies, TV, radio, etc.) and allow those belief systems and opinions to steer your thinking, you will continue to be deeply challenged by the truth that is Jesus Christ.

My advice to you is to lean not onto your own understanding, but acknowledge Him, and ask that He work in you to will and to do of His good pleasure. You will find the Lord will be kind and merciful. At the same time, read the Bible prayerfully. Doing so will plant seeds of faith.

I wonder, have you ever been to Russia? If not, then what persuades you of the existence of that country? Is it what you have read and heard? As you can see, you do operate in a form of faith. Apply the same principle to the things of God. Read edifying material, i.e. the Scriptures, and listen to sermons on justification by grace.

God by with you,
Dave

No. You will have to save yourself.

Read the Prodigal Son. Unless you leave the pigsty of this world and decide to head home - to God - God really cannot do anything. He is waiting with open arms but he cannot make the decision for you.

think upon this . If Jesus Christ had not been real. Then His Mother sat through all the pain, that was brought upon her, and one of her children, her first born Son, for A lie. now do you really believe that A mother would allow her Son and herself to experience all that Jesus Christ went through for a Lie. For who would had known better the He was born of a Virgin, then the Virgin Mary, Herself. And If it had been a lie, then all she would had to do, would be to speak up and say wait you don't have to kill Him, for He is not who He says He is. For I can show you who His earthly father is.

some others would point toward the 12 Disciples, which most were Killed for their faith in Jesus Christ and Him being the Son of God, could 11 disciples/grown men die all for a lie, it would seem reasonable that at least one would value their life over a lie, and instead of dying reveal the truth of Jesus if He had not been Whom he said that he was. then we have Judas, the one that could have been the one that would have exposed the truth, took His own life, for he knew that, he had betrayed the very Son of God.

I think that one can be saved and still struggle with doubts. The Holy Spirit is already working on your heart or you wouldn't be here asking questions and seeking to overcome your doubt.

Confess your doubt and your will to have stronger faith. Ask God to help you. Tell God that you want Christ as your savior and ask Him to fill you with His Holy Spirit and allow you to see clearly.

Faith is a journey. Faith means that we put our trust and confidence in Christ. It doesn't mean that we have all the answers or understand perfectly. If you turn to God in earnestness and trust and turn your problems over to Him, He will help you.

God Bless you.

According to Jesus himself, the point is not to become a "Christian", but to follow him. This means to study and implement his teachings in your life. The earliest "Christians" were not called Christians because they believed in Christianity, but because they tried to live as Jesus did, to take his teachings and Way seriously. That, to me, is what saves us, not becoming part of the Christian religion.

Are there doubts involved? Certainly. Those doubts are signs, not of a lack of faith, but of a desire to grow, to understand, to seek truth. The opposite of faith is not doubt, but fear. And Jesus' most repeated phrase was, "Fear not." Allow God to use your doubts as stepping stones to further growth and understanding. But look to Jesus first and foremost for the perfect love that cast out all fear. Religion cannot give you that, not even Christianity. Why? Because Christianity is the religion *about* Jesus, not the religion *of* Jesus. Disciples desire and seek the religion of Jesus - which is loving God and loving others. No doubts about that.

Stick with scripture... and you will be saved...

Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Once you do this, know and understand that the devil will attempt to talk you out of your faith, so read Mark 4:14-20 over and over and think about what Jesus is teaching here.

Based on the fact that you care enough to be thinkin 'bout it shows that you are hungry to know your Creator and have a personal relationship with Him... congrats on that!

Stay away from people seeking to talk you out of your faith as they are agents of darkness and most don't even know it...

Jesus is the Rock that just won't roll...

I was saved the moment I believed Jesus was alive. That he rose from the dead . The Word of God convinced me and the Holy Spirit working upon His Word and my heart. I struggled with what had happened I had to make God the center of the universe and those things I thought we secret were known. This comes with the territory of salvation . Walking in the light as He is in the light means Confessing sin and turning to God for mercy. Seeking the resurrected Lord in the mid seventies at twenty four now I am 62 and both parents and three sisters and one brother nieces and nephews have come to Christ. The Lord is faithful . At some point the revelation will stick 123 Newbie. God cannot Lie. He gives his Word. Memorize 1 John 1:9 and 1 John 1:7 You will see a breakthrough as I did . When you believe God's Promise . This is the same for all who seek Christ. He will lead and guide you God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your live . Seek Jesus it's relationship not religion . Ask and you shall receive . Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. He doesn't leave or forsake you . The tricky thing is you are called out of the world . Find Christians who believe the Bible is the Word of God and who seek Jesus. Avoid religion at all costs. Seek God expect his leading and guiding.
