i have come to a place in my walk with the lord that i do not watch tv anymore. it is only on special occasions that i do watch tv.

sometimes when i am in the living room, i think "well, now i could watch tv and see what´s on..." and then there will always be something that speaks to me in a very special way, that speaks into my life...

when you have distanced yourself from the tv reality, it is actually scary to go back to it and see what is shown there on teh small screen.

tonight i watched a movie that was called "wild things". a pretty average thriller with a very surprising plot that took all kinds of unexpected turns.

i have to say i think its cool what we humans have invented there, and there is definitely place for good entertainment in the kingdom of god, but i mean when i saw that movie i thought "can this be real? are we crazy to watch such things ?" i mean this was an average movie, theres about 30 channels like this, and this movie was so full of sex, murder, revenge and treason that i could not believe it. i mean what we look at is what we become. so millions of people are watching this stuff all for "entertainment" of course. boy do we live in a sick sick world !

i mean i am not used to suchabusive and devilish thinking any more as is portrayed sometimes in these movies. i mean it takes a lot to think such thoughts of how you can spoil and abuse other people to get a handful of millions of dollars.

i watched it because it was just right at that situation.

the full frontal nudity was pretty impressive i can imagine, but well thats almost normal its on late night tv in western countries every day, has become so normal to us.

well back to the OP, yes the plot is extremely devilish, i mean they all are supposed to do a coup together, but all work for their own gain.

i guess what i wanted to convey in the OP was that it feels so weird when you try to think as a disciple and get the mind of christ and always feel you need to take care of others, and then you watch such a movie where people go all the way, treason, lies, murder to work for something as superficial as money. because money won´t make you happy it is not worth it. committing a murder for money will never pay off, you will be scarred for life. but it seems that today´s dick and jane who just watch whatever is on don´t go with me here...

it is true the plot is fictional, but take a look at our vast "entertainment" landscape (which in reality is adaptation and subconscious learning), and have a look at how our youth culture is sold out to MTV and Hollywood, i see a great danger in there...
