  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

These two books are for men/women respectivly, and look at the core desires of our hearts as a reflection of how we can know God and how we can know and understand ourselves as men and women better.

I read Wild At Heart first (because Captivating is only very new), and was amazed by it, but I was blown away by Captivating. I'm just after the workbook now so I can spend time really praying through it.

Anyone else read them? What did you think?

Yeah; I was reading Wild at Heart because a bunch of guys at my church had read it, and I was curious (and nosey). The book was pretty good, and certaintly enthusiastic, but I was rather bothered by Mr. Eldridge's theraputic approach to life; he even goes so far as to directly imply that people who have little to nothing against their parents that needs working out with God and a councelor, then they're untrustworthy and in denial! Is that what he wants his own sons to think ten years from now? That is not cool.
