  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Wiki rules discussion

Hy everyone. With this new rule policy, I think there needs to be some sort of thread to discuss what needs to be made hard and fast rules and what should remain as recommended policy.
I just feel that there could be some serious changes afoot, and I'd like to know what everyone thinks.

Honestly, I wouldn’t press extremely hard what style people should write and whatnot. Trust me, I like a well written RPG as much as anyone, but I also realize that a lot of people like games that go at breakneck speed with tons of action and little heed to plot and grammar. I might not like it, but, hey, if they’re having fun, why not let ‘em? I think things like that ought to be left up to the game master. If someone wants to delegate a certain writing style, put it in the rules, and if things don’t go according to plan, adapt and improve. Isn’t that what makes RPGs RPGs?

Just a thought. By the way, there’s another thread discussing this stuff where I put some more of my serious thoughts: http://www.christianforums.com/t5712228-christian-rpg-wiki.html
