  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I ave a cat with OCD. After we got her front claw removed she took care of the back ones, she has kept them trimed down for the past 17 years. She also likes socks, she treats them as if they were her kittens, she has never had a littler, and she is spayed.

Never heard of that in a female before. Males, yes but not females.

My dog is occasionally bizzare. If a stranger comes over to our house he is all over them. Wanting to say hello and sniff the new arrival.

If we're away from home he turns into super-wimp. He'll cower and hide behind me. He's also afraid of bicycles and rollerblades. It's dissappointing to see a 95 lb dog hiding from a 40lb kid on roller blades.

He's still a pup mentally so hopefully he'll grow out of this.

Commander has a strange habit of ....err, talking to much. He puts all these "doggy" sounds together, barking howling, growling, baying to form sentences (I refer to it as yammering). He'll give you an ear full. Don't ever tell him to hush, that just make it worse!

Does your pet do anything wacky or wierd ?

My dog likes to find fresh bird droppings on the lawn and roll around in them...GROSS. I don't know why she does this, she may need an analyist.

Anyone have a more bizzarre pet than i do ?

No, she doesn't need an analyst, she's just being a dog. Almost every dog I've ever met does this at least occasionally. Remember, what smells foul to you doesn't neccessarily smell bad to your dog.

I have a female dog that tries to "mate" with anything that will sit still long enough. It's really embarassing when I have guests over. I read that it's a way of asserting dominance.

This could be dominance, it depends. If it is a dominance display, it needs to be stopped immediately. In fact, no matter what the cause, it probably needs to be stopped immediately. Dogs should never be allowed to engage in dominance displays over humans that are not posing a threat. This is especially true when it comes to members of your family or others who are in contact with the dog regularly. Allowing something like this to continue can lead to serious problems down the road. If this behavior is an attempt to dominate, you can be almost certain that it will lead to a biting incident if not curtailed.

I'd seriously recommend that you find a competent dog trainer and work through this problem. It may seem harmless now, but it can lead to big trouble.

All the same cat: Penny...

A long time ago, my cat ate broccoli.

I've also seen her pick up a kitty kibble and try to eat it from her paw.

I've seen her take food that's left over and try to cover it by moving her paw along the kitchen floor. However, there's nothing to cover it with, but she's going through the motions! She hasn't done that in a while.

When I was little, I was running after her. Then I spontaneously turned around and began running, and she ran after me!

A couple times, she would pick up my mom's slippers with her mouth and move them around.

Occasionally, she would jump up and grab my mom's butt. Mom surmises that Penny saw it jiggling, and wanted to play with it.

My sons dog Zeus (110 lb lab) has to put his paws on my shoulders and nibble my chin when I get home. I kid you not. If I make him wait he gets impatient and ends up nipping my chin - then running away while I holler!!! LOL

Also (same dog) when I'm in the bathroom brushing my teeth or hair or whatever, he stands at the tub and whines. He wants me to run a little water in the bottom so he can stand in the tub and drink. He has water in a bowl in the kitchen. I think it's because the other three can't/won't get in and out of the tub so it's all his. This is an evening ritual!

Weird!

My cat starts mewling really loudly for no reason.. then goes and finds an article of clothing that I left on my floor, and mewls while the shirt or whatever is in her mouth and brings it to me. She prefers red clothes too... strange cat! I've heard this is a typical siamese trait.

My BF has a lab/sharpe (sp?) cross. It's a funny looking dog. It also loves to howl. Whenever there's a saprano voice singing, she howls along. Her favorite band is the girl-metal band "Kitty". Go figure! :D

My parents' dog Maddie barks constantly at anything with a motor -- the car, the lawnmower, ATV's, you name it! I guess she hates the noise.

I remember an OLD (ie. Bob Saget!) episode of "America's Funniest Home Videos" in which a black and white cat was trying to *catch* the race cars on a TV screen! There was a more recent one (without Bob) where the family's neighbor would call and leave a message on the answering machine that their dog was outside, after the family had left it inside the house when they left to go shopping and stuff. So they set up a video camera by the front door...believe it or not, the dog had figured out how to open the screen door! WEIRD!

Goodnes gracious - where to start with my weird pets. ;)

One of my horses is perpetually looking for trouble - he can open nearly any gate whose latch he can reach, and when we turn him out he gets into the garage and bothers whoever's working in there. He has a strange obsession with chasing chickens and bopping them with his nose, but he has one that's his friend and sleeps in his stall with him. He also likes to stand in the aisle, on his own, where he would be if he was cross-tied, and wait for me to come do something with him.

One of my dogs - a "Labmation" - is terrified of people, but doesn't want to show it, so she stands behind me and growls out from between my legs. She doesn't like loud noises either - when she hears something she dislikes, she runs and growls at my other dog.

Silly animals

Got a 20lb boy cat named Mooch who loves to jump up, and give love bites to our butt cheek then runs away. He will let me push him around in a box, swing him around in a bag and the latest, my wife will drop him down the back of my boxers and he'll sit there with his paws hanging out as if he were in a baby carrier. LOVES to talk. Plays fetch, but always drops it short, never brings it back to our hands.

Got a 5lb (if that) girl cat named Keetcha. She has the biggest sweet tooth. Loves those gummy fruits. Loves to lay on my (not the wifes) clothes. Thinks the tub is her play pit. If you hear her mewing, she's carrying her little furry mousey. Loves to play fetch, and unlike her big lummox brother will bring it back to your hand (she will also bring it back to me, then to my wife, then back to me so we are both playing with her.

They're both nutty!
