  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Although that site is very informative, it's also a little off-putting.

"Artist's rights"? Puh-lease. If I sell you one of my paintings, do I have any right to tell you how to frame it?
No...but I'm pretty sure the artist wouldn't be happy if you completely obscured part of his work..which is exactly what Full Screen does.

I always buy widescreen and I recommed buying wide screen, too. All new TVs are widescreen, so in a few years if you replace your TV, it'll be nice to have the widescreen movies and not have the full screen ones where footage is chopped off. This was my rationale for buying widescreen DVDs, and I'm glad I did now that I have a widescreen TV.
I agree

Whether the artist is happy about it or not, he does not have any right, legal or philosophical, to complain about what I do to his work once I've bought it.

It shows disrespect, plain and simple.
