  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

With the passing of some good and talented people this year,I remebered some other people, that passed away,at an early age. Now that I am 62,these ages do not seem so old anymore.
At their times of their deaths,Abraham Lincoln was 56. JFK was 46. MLK was 39.
Roberto Clemete was only 38.

Roberto Clemente was one of my favorite professional baseball players, that I had the privilege of watching. One of the reasons, that I took Spanish in school, was to be able to communicate to Latin baseball players, such as Roberto Clemente. Not only was he a great baseball player,he was a great humanitarian. After there was a big earthquake,in Nicaragua,he was flying supplies,on December 31,1972,to the earthquake victims. Shortly after his plane took off,his plane crashed into the sea.His body was never found.

I felt a great loss, after I heard the tragic news.

That was the first time, that I asked this question. The question was." Why does it seems that good people have to die so young?"

I loved Clemente. I played college baseball and Clemente is why I wore number 21.

Truthfully, I do not know.

I do know this: The same God who decided my late honored father would live ninety-six years of age; the same God who decided my late, honored grand-father would live one hundred years, is the same God who decided my brother would only live to forty-nine and Mr. Clemente even younger.

If we thank God for long lives, we should equally thank Him for short lives. And no, God has still not confided in me the criteria for life-spans.
