If the Maine State government has the authority to act that way, perhaps you should look up a US Supreme Court case called Flemming v. Nestor.

The bottom line is that if you don't want the government to cut your SNAP benefits, don't be on the snap program.

I'm unable to find any statistics, so, perhaps you could tell me how many people in the United States starved to death in 2013. How many of those are not children whose parents intentionally neglect them?

Too bad we don't have Teddy Kennedy around to NIMBY this windmill so many want to tilt.

In those 37 states, economic conditions are so bad that the federal government invited state officials to suspend the work requirement that usually applies to able-bodied adults without dependents who want SNAP benefits. When the economy is healthy and jobs are plentiful, a person with no disability and no one to look after must demonstrate that they are working or in job training at least 20 hours a week in order to get food stamps for more than 90 days in any three-year period. If economic conditions are dire, though, federal officials allow state administrators to waive the work rules for SNAP.

Wasn't Obama tooting about how the U.S. has gained 11 million private sector jobs in five years. Lets see...57-37=20 states. Only 20 states got jobs?

What about those who can't find jobs? In Maine, there are NO jobs. Picking up and moving is not an option for many. I know you can't understand that, but it's a fact. Please...move out of your little tower of privilege and go meet the people who are struggling...you may find that these folks have the same dreams and desires and beliefs as you do...

I can't believe you say these things...I really can't. Yet, I can understand that you've never really bothered to get in the trenches and associate with the great unwashed masses...
