  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm not quite sure why you personally would forget, because there are many reasons one can forget.

But I can share why I do. I've really been seeking a closer relationship with Him. To do so He has had to reveal hinderances in my relationship with Him. Two really big ones for me. Lies and Pride.

The Lies hinder because if I am believing a lie (even if unknowingly), that means I have not believed God, and must repent and ask God to reveal the truth in the matter. If I don't and instead continue with the lie I can't hear God because I have not "died to the flesh" as He wanted me to. My flesh would rather I not remember God and then continually feeds me thoughts that bring my mind to other things. I had not realized how many lies you can believe and operate and make decision according, even as a born again christian.

The second was a real kicker. I just learned the scope of this one today. My pride. God hates pride. Pride has covered my heart, and trapped it in a prison of darkness. I can hear God sometimes, and other times can't distinguish one voice from the next, and sometimes don't hear a voice at all. Without the godly sorrow that pride tends to prevent, I have no desire to come back quickly to Him. Hence I have moments, hours, or days where my mind is elsewhere.

But that's just me...

Just a thought...is there anything else on your mind? It is easy to put Him on the back side of your mind when you are busy with other things. The trick is to spend time with God WHILE you deal with other things.

loved your posts thankyou so much mythrainbow, I hear you!!! yes I totally hear you and looksgood, I am worrying about how little love I feel between my husband and myself, and then I realise that Jesus can fill me with that love and I follow him again and find my peace and joy, but they desire for my husbands love and attentions draws me away from Christ because it becomes an issue for me.

Very good points made about the way pride and our thinking can interfere with our relationship with God. Thanks for making me ponder.

"As a man thinketh . . ." Hmm, makes you want to spend a little time thinking about what you think about doesn't it?

We aren't and won't be perfect here, but we are blameless through Christ. Spending time in the Word to know just who the Bible says we are, through Jesus Christ, is better than spending time pondering our humanness.

Praise Him! Praise Him! For praise is the garment that covers our heaviness. It is a spiritual tool that grows us closer to God, and matures us spiritually. Praise Him in the heavy times, and He will give us beauty for ashes! Is 61:3 shows us how God has already provided a way for us, if we obey.

May we remember that it's us He desires, now, not after we've perfected ourselves, for we can't anyway, only He can. After all, He was the one that gave us the faith to believe, and He will move us from faith to more faith, from glory to more glory, if we only believe that He is who His Word says He is, and that He will do what His Word says He will do. We must believe that we are exactly what His Word says that we are, and we can do all things through Christ. Let that living Word lead all we think about, say or do today and tomorrow and every day until we see Him face to face!

My prayer for you my friend....Ask Yeshuah to let you think upon Him constantly, making your very life a prayer.

And this scripture for you
Song 8:6-7
6Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.
7Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.

maybe you don't forget Jesus but instead maybe we sometimes forget who we are in Christ and forget who we belong to sometimes.

this has happened to me too sometimes when i get too busy,or too tierd.

Yeah but that really is no excuse to the Lord
And Jesus wants us to really live our lives to
Being Christ centered and on Him
Regardless of how we feel and how busy we get!
