Why would We?

Why would we stand for it?THose of us who are older.How come we waited until we got out of the house,or we waited to tell?Those of us who are younger,yall need to tell so yall wont hurt like i do.You need to tell some one you can trust then stay with them or a friend so yall dont mess up yalls lifes.But why did we stand for it just let it happen day after day?

I stood for it cos I was young, I didn't understand, thought it was normal, just as I was being told, I kinda knew it wasn't thoguh, I always lied about the bruises! I dunno, I guess a lot of people are scared, my dad told me that he'd kill me or make me really ill if I ever told! so, I guess that scared me loads cos I was only little and he had lots of power over me! and my mum wasn't in that house!

Abuse, traumatizes a person. Some fight back until they can escape, some detach and let their mind slip away from the present because their mind can't handle what has happened to them. Some, it has happened since they were so young , that they think it is a normal way of life. Abuse is never the victim's fault. Its a terrible vicious cycle that is hard to understand without the proper help

You don't tell because you don't know what will happen, and sometimes the hell that you know is less scary than the possible hell you might be thrown into. How do you know as a child, or even a teenager, that there actually are people out there who would help and rescue you from the situation? For all you know, all the people that seem nice and might help could be fronting too, just like you are, to make things seem like they are all right because they have to. We were expected to handle things like adults as children, so now we wonder why we didn't know what to do as children -- simple, we were little kids. We did the best that we could with what we knew. Don't blame yourself for not telling -- you were protecting yourself the best way you knew how. Children don't know how to protect themselves because we weren't supposed to know -- it wasn't our responsibility to create a stable, loving home for ourselves.

We must forgive ourselves for being children. Jesus said it best -- it's better for one to have a heavy stone hung around their neck and be thrown to the bottom of the sea than to cause a little person to sin.

Those who abused us will have to answer for it if they don't learn to repent and plead His blood over their lives.

I know that they will pay,but i mean why were we scared all we had to do was tell the truth when a friend asked or a teacher,i lied all the time about where i got my brusies.See i dont get why i never told all i had to do was say yes and i could of gone some where it could of been changed and i didnt.He never threated to kill me just said to be quiet that it was our secret.And thats what i though that was true.I just dont get what made me so scared of him,was it him alone,what he did,or was i being well dumb?
