And if that isn't enough to chew on, why would he allow 20,000 to 40,000 children to starve to death every single day?

Why would an omnipotent and omniscient God, that is also benevolent, willingly allow innocent children to suffer or, in many cases, die prematurely? God cannot be all powerful, all knowing, and have a passion to do good while also allowing the mass suffering of children.

And for the record, I don't buy into God works in mysterious ways either. That's such a cop out...Christians and Pastors alike love to teach what God wants, feels, needs, and expects out of us, but when they don't have a good explanation, they explain it with God works in mysterious ways.

Your basing your human understanding on a belief that there are good and bad people, and you are blaming God for bad things happening to the "good" people.

The harsh reality is that there are no "good" people. No, not one.

The basis for our need for salvation via Jesus, is that there are no "good" people. Everything "bad" thing happening in this world is happening to a sinful, broken and fallen humanity.

It's our fault that sin is in this world and corrupting God's perfect creation.

There was a time when suffering and sorrow did not exist. When God first created man, everything was perfect. There was no sickness, no pain, no sorrow. It was God's plan for man to live in peace. But according to Genesis 3, man chose the way of Satan, rather than the way of God. Very simply put we suffer because we are sinners. Pain and suffering can also teach us and make us stronger. People can cause suffering because He gave us the gift of Free Will. The freedom to choose Him over Satan. You must remember it is not this life but the next that matters. Death in this life not a bad thing.

But the day will come when God wipes away all of our suffereing.

Revelation 21:4 "And God will wipe away all tears from their eyes. And there will be no more death, nor mourning, nor crying out, nor will there be any more pain; for the first things passed away."
