Why would creationists do this?

Why would anyone want their children taught that 2+2=5? when the rest of the world teaches 2+2=4,
because in effect that's what creationists seem to be doing by telling their children not to accept evolution,
evolution is accepted as a fact all over the world, why not America?
why would they want to damage their childrens education like this?
religion is one thing, but deliberately putting their children at a disadvantage seems crazy, in fact it's beyond comprehension.

I really don't think there's a definite answer as to 'why', other than that 2+2=5 is Truth to them, as 2+2=4 is truth to us. :\

Why would early evolution acceptors teach their children evolution when the rest of the world believes in creation? Because they think it is the truth for whatever reason.

At least that is the reason for some of them.

No it was not deleted, it was pulled for inspection, in case it upset the delicate senses of creationists,
which means they are so unsure of their beliefs that no one must upset them,
just in case they change their minds and start to believe something else,
spider webs are stronger than creationists, and the spiders have more brains.

Yes I'm 68 years old and your opinion is as worthless as the God in your head, which is less than nothing to anyone other than yourself,
because your God is your God, you keep him tucked away until you need him, you only roll him out to make yourself feel good,
that's why I said it was sad, because it is sad, people wanting their children to delude themselves for the whole of their lives
just to make their dying easier, prepared to let them live a lie,
why not kill them when they're born? they would never need to worry about dying then,
better yet, teach them to have a good life and take death in their stride, because death is natural.

Look at the poor Muslims, they have calculated they are on their knees for an average of four or five years,
for what? a misguided belief that there's something waiting for them when they die, how sad is that?

Basic online etiquette is sometimes difficult to teach to the "over-50" set. A friend I know through my father that trades emails with me is constantly typing all-caps, all the time. I try to explain to him that he's shouting, but he shrugs it off, and does what he wants (or tells me he's half-deaf IRL, and is just giving me a "live" experience heh).

It kinda looks to be a similar situation with consol vs. the idea of respecting the hierarchy of a discussion forum.

Probably because they believe that 2+2=5 (to use your analogy). The argument that they should teach 2+2=4 because the rest of the world does so is a logical fallacy, argument ad populum I believe. They should teach it because its true, but the problem is that they don’t believe it to be true, so why would they teach it?

I should also point out that it is not just America. I know it is popular in the UK to use the old “It could only happen in America” gambit, but that does not make the statement true. There are creationists all over eh world. Australia has a lot of ‘em (which is ironic, because if ever a continent existed that pretty much demonstrated Evolution I would have taught it was Australasia!) and we have them in the UK as well. Retg Vardie (yes, that Reg Vardie, the one with the multi million pound car sales room empire) funds two schools in the UK which teach creationism as truth. One is in Gatershead I forget where the other is.
