I'm so sorry for you guys with all of the nausea! I'm 10 1/2 weeks along with baby #2, and I've just been queasy. I'm definately having food aversion, but it seems to be getting better. Hopefully, I'm coming up through the first trimester fog. This is about when it happened last time. I'm bett'n we're having another girl :)

I AM SO SICK!!!!:bow:oh it's just awful, I think its the:tantrum: worst:(

But for a real good reason;)

I fell your pain, the first at least 15 weeks of my pregnancy I was sick to the point that I lost almost 20 pounds. After that I did well and was able to eat with the occasional vomiting once a month or so. It will get easier, but it is for a very good reason

Ooooh I would love to lose 20 pounds! I've only lost 1 with all this vomiting. I am almost 12 weeks and feel a lot better. Still a bit queasy but at least I'm not actually vomiting.

Hi Guitar,

I had terrible nausea while carrying both of my children. Because it caused me dehydration (I couldn't even keep water down!), my OBGYN put me on `gravol', and it literally changed my life around. I don't like taking medication of any sort, so I only took it around mealtimes initially so that I could get nourished. But it didn't take long before I only had to take it every now and again, and then finally not at all.

There are two types of gravol - oral and rectal. The rectal works faster and lasts longer to stave off nausea. I only advise this if you can't hold down anything like I couldn't at first. But pretty soon I was able to switch to the oral since it became less likely that it would come up again.

When the nausea was better under control and I was minimally taking the gravol, I began to exercise (mostly walking) and this in and of itself became a great energy booster and seemed to stop the nausea as well. (I know because I was usually worse whenever I skipped a day of exercise)

In the end, there was no harm to my babies (now 2 and 7), and I was able to enjoy pregnancy a lot sooner than I expected.

As with anything though, please check with your own doctor first to make sure that this is o.k. for you.

I only have nausea now when I don't eat enough with my insulin. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes a week in a half ago after taking three of the three hour blood glucose test, my results were so odd they just decided that I needed to lay off certain foods, then 2 weeks ago after my results were still irregular I had to take insulin. I do get occasional nausea now because of it though... but I've got only a week or two more to go so I'll be a team player.

Citrus fruits really helped me. I drank lots of lemonade in my first trimester and am still drinking tons of orange juice. The biggest thing was popsicles! Otter Pops, or the popsicles in the plastic tubes that you cut to eat, were the only thing that kept me from puking all the time. A nurse told me that most of the nausea is caused by blood sugar plummeting quickly between meals, so having something sweet gets it back up again, like popsicles. Really did the trick for me!

Well Baby #2 isn't being so nice either when it comes to Nashua. I've yet to vomit but I've had tons of moments where I've wanted too. Hopefully this time around I'll be able to find something to kick my Nashua.
