Given that John 8:1-11 didn't appear until about 400 C.E. I don't know what we are hoping to pin down here?
I think if you are going to make that kind of statement trying to debunk the OP you should cite evidence for this, else it's just derailing my thread. :)

I thought everyone knew that! Obviously not!

Try Manuscript History and John 8:1-8:11

Or read The Gospel of John by Eli Lizorkin-Eyzenberg

Or Comparative Religion: Fake story: John 8:7 "Let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone " forgery; Woman caught in adultery in earliest manuscripts !

Or Is John 8:1-11 really in Scripture?

Or Carson, D. A. The Gospel According to John (333-334). Leicester, England; Grand Rapids, Mich.: Inter-Varsity Press; W.B. Eerdmans, 1991.

My Thompson Study Bible draws attention to it - in the text it says: The earliest manuscripts and many other ancient witnesses do not have this text.

Where it refers to the Greek version, that is post circa 400 C.E.

PS If you locate a version prior to 400 C.E. please share it.
