If you look at the days when the second temple was being built and finished, you will see that some people that had seen the first temple were not impressed with the new temple. This second temple was not as extravagant as the first one (built in the days of Solomon). What were they told?
Haggai chapter 2
I don't think so when it comes to the truth of the word of God, and it leads us to truth.BTW, doesn't arguing about THE FUTURE seem a bit silly?
I don't think so when it comes to the truth of the word of God, and it leads us to truth.
If it gets to be an unfruitful debate...you let it go.
It seems to me this "secret rapture" has many thinking that they'll escape what many saint's before us had to endure.
It's rather ironic too, because we're told "they that live Goldy in Christ Jesus WILL suffer persecution"...so why would we be exempt?
Right! So do you think it was even better than the one that Solomon built?
What it comes down to really is our own imperfection to hear God through the Holy Spirit, something we labor to do all out lives. It all comes down to interpretation. To say that you have the truth about the future and others don't is really nothing more than hubris.
You can't even find the truth of a third temple. Show it in scripture if you don't mind.
You understand that as far as Jesus. The temple was a type of Christ, all the sacrifices looked forward to Christ. God removed his name from that temple when it was fulfilled in Christ. In the days of Solomon is when God forever put His name on the holy site.
Also, nowhere does God ever show that there can only be one kind of temple till the end days.
Check your reference, Rev 12 doesn't mention a tabernacle or templeJohn first wrote about the temple - as being His tabernacle. It was only after the smoke was seen in it at the end of Rev. 15 that John started to refer to it as the temple of God.
Rev. 12
tabernacle
That would be the heavenly temple, and God's judgment is about to be rendered on Jerusalem by the Romans.Rev. 15
tabernacle
smoke fills it
*Rev 11 - "temple of God" identifies the existent temple (Herod's temple) which is about to be destroyed.Rev. 11
temple of God
the ark is seen
So now John can see inside even the most holy part of the temple of the tabernacle.
no people are in it
The reference to the tabernacle here speaks of eternity...God dwelling among men. It is speaking to Rev 21:2, 3:Rev. 7
His temple
Did you know that Babe Ruth had a . 342 lifetime average? Now who would you want on your team? Babe Ruth or Frank Gilmore with a .043 lifetime batting average? How about if we give you Frank and we take Babe for our team. Sense you think it is "hubris" to predict the future. What do you do when you hire a plumber to fix your plumbing. Sense you can not know the future, then you do not know if he is going to be able to do the job or not. You will have to wait to see what the outcome is. Did you know that universities have very exact tests that help them to know the future and predict who will get the job done and who has a good chance of dropping out of school and not being able to finish the program. Do you want me to go on with the endless ways we know and predict the future every day? What about the Wright Brothers? Bottom line is they had the winning formula. No one else could get their math right. That is why they were able to fly, when no one else could. They were able to do what no one else could accomplish, because they had the right formula. The Bible says: "These signs shall follow those that believe". What sort of a average do we have. What are we known for and what sort of a trail do we leave behind us?It all comes down to interpretation. To say that you have the truth about the future and others don't is really nothing more than hubris.
These things have already occurred. However since you have a "futurist view" you either don't know it or don't receive it.2 Thes 2
Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Matt 24
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
There has to be a Temple for these things to occur..... but you already are aware of that....... you just don't understand it. Go ahead and explain what this means.........
Now that makes sense! Now this makes no sense. Since you believe that we are half way through the 70th week and about to begin 3 1/2 years of Great Tribulation. It would be impossible for a 3rd Temple to be built in time for your order of events as it would take much longer than 5 years to build a temple.
The Mormon temple in Salt Lake City took 40 years to complete. Surely a 3rd Jewish temple would be greater.
Now that makes sense!
Herod's Temple - Scriptures
HEROD THE GREAT'S TEMPLE (From Naves Topical Bible)
46 Years in building
John 2:20 Then the Jews said, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?"
.
When the folks a the Temple Mount Institute were asked by a Prophecy group directly -
Question: Can you build your temple in 3 1/2 years?
Answer: With today's technology and equipment, Yes.
JLB
And you know what? It isn't going to happen because it is politically impossible.
No....but that's a good evasion tactic Biblewriter. Because this destroys your literal theology you want to call what you don't understand false.
I remember our debate on Ezekiel, and obviously you do too. You couldn't justify a third temple then either so you resorted to your "over and out" tactic. You do that a lot when you have no answer.
