In Daniel 9:24 we are given the purpose of the seventieth week. Six distinct events were to take place. They were all fulfilled in Jesus Christ.
Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to---
1. finish the transgression,
2. and to make an end of sins,
3. and to make reconciliation for iniquity,
4. and to bring in everlasting righteousness,
5. and to seal up the vision and prophesy,
6. and to anoint the most Holy.
VERSES SHOWING FULFILLMENT
(1) Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus,------.
(2) Hebrews 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
(3) 2Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
(4) Romans 10:4For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth.
(5) Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
(6) Acts 4:27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,
There is no future action needed by Jesus. He fulfilled all.
