Why the Protestant Reformation failed

God has not given any commandments which cannot be obeyed by all. His laws sanction no unreasonable restrictions.

Ministering to humanity is in harmony with the Sabbath law. It is in harmony with the work of God's angels, who are constantly descending and ascending between heaven and earth to minister to humanity.

God's holy rest day was made for man, and acts of serving suffering humanity are in perfect harmony with its intent. God does not desire His creatures to suffer pain from causes that may be relieved upon the Sabbath or any other day.

On the DL, if your interpretation of the law is correct, then God is at fault. God does not wait for the Sabbath to pass before He answers prayer. Heaven's work never ceases, and men should never rest from doing good..

Lets not get too diverted. Like I said, I respect people in those professions.

My argument is there are those who don't observe the sabbath. They can do what's necessary to be done on sabbath. You have the same choice they do. It comes down to your choice. I understand it's a service to humanity. But our duty to God comes before our duty to man.

If you are doing a job that nobody else can do, then I think that's a calling. But I don't think that's the case here.

For sabbath keepers to depend upon sabbathbreakers for many services which their rules forbade them to do for themselves is hypocritical.

They do not reflect that if these acts are sinful, those who employ others to perform them are as guilty as if they had done the work themselves.

I guess we never use our utilities at home on sabbath, never drive pass tolls to go to church on sabbath or never get onto the internet to check email or log into CF to post. And I sure hope we never send out letters on Thursday or Friday so they might be in transit or be delivered on Sabbath.

If what you said is right, it's ok for us to work in these professions to provide service on sabbath too?

We all need to look more to God and less to man for the answers to such questions. Each one of us is to have an individual experience in being taught by God.

It is while God works with us that we "work out our own salvation with fear and trembling", because the power to discriminate between right and wrong comes only through an individual dependence upon God. The mind that depends upon the judgment of others is certain, sooner or later, to be misled

I have learned that we are not to criticze, judge or condemn anyone for what they do, or do not do, on the sabbath. We are not to ignore any ones individuality, or in any way justify ourselves.

For God deals with people as individuals, giving "to every man his work." Each has his place in the eternal plan, each one has a part to act--duties to perform and responsibilities to carry out. And to do our part acceptably we must have the wisdom that comes from above, not from man.

I agree. We need to resolve our issues with God individually. Let Him lead us without trying to justify what we want ourselves.

Thankfully the wisdom of God is promised to those who feel their need and who ask for it. For it is written, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."

I've become leary of people who assert their loyalty to God, but do not themselves cherish the spirit of humility. It was spiritual pride that separated the religious leaders in Christ day from God. The same spiritual pride exist today, and it has built strong walls of separation between different classes of people. .

How one should go about obeying the 4th commandment is not as simple as it may sound.

Consider how it was that even Jesus could be accused of as being a sabbath breaker.

There are types of "work" that require they be done on the sabbath.

I'm a police officer. Friday night is the busiest time for fighting crime.

In Gods eyes, is it wrong for someone to serve and protect the public during the sabbath??. i think not

Jesus said that "it is lawful to do good on the sabbath days." Mark 3:4

Hi RepentAndBelieve, I am a soldier in the United States Army and a Seventh Day Adventist. So I, like you, have had to work on the Sabbath. Just as in the days of old, not every one could go to the Temple and Worship. Someone had to stand guard at the gates and on the walls. It is important to stress that I know that all Ten of the Commandments are intact and that I am to make every effort to obey them. God knows we can't obey them on our own, therefore he gave us his Son. And you are right, "it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath". Also I would like to thank you for putting your life on the line everyday. I know what it feels like wondering if you are going live through the next few seconds of your life... is this where it ends? I believe it brings us closer to God.

Hello JF5000, I see that you are a newbie so welcome to CF.

I commend you for taking your part in the war between good and evil. There are some who, for various reasons, may not be able to do this work. But let them not think that they can do nothing to help. They can encourage those who do go out and do the work of staying the progress of the world's corruption. It is a solemn, unenviable work indeed and it is truly 24-7-365 battle.

God sometimes calls His people into unconventional lines of ministry. And He is calling for men and women who are willing to experience travail of soul whenever the work calls for it. Not people who claim to be Sabbathkeepers, but who, instead of building up the work, hinder it by criticizing and falsely accusing their brethren.

Some point to Gods Word which says that we are to flee from evil not contend with it, and that we are to rest on the seventh day and not labor on it. But we must realize that in some way or another the enemy seeks to deceive everyone, even the very elect.

It is every Christians duty to do what they can to press back the tide of evil. For we are labourers together with God. 1 Cor. 3:9

Let all who profess to have found Christ, minister as He did for the benefit of men, 24-7. May they with keen, sanctified perception work for God where and when His providence shall call them. Always remembering that it is through the power of the Holy Spirit that the forces of evil are to be conquered.

My prayer for you DF5000 is that God will protect your soul from the hardening and demoralizing influence that everyone passing through such ordeals as violence and war is exposed to.
