I'm struggling with my faith here...uhm if our God is the only God and the one true God. Why so many other faiths? Wouldn't God have revieled himself to people other than the Jews? If not then why?
I understand that someone can make a "religion" out of anything. Someone could pick up the book "Peter Pan", call Peter the Messiah and have the book be their Holy Text. But why doesn't God reviel (forgive my spelling) himself to everyone. It's just really hard on my faith when I hear friends of mine, whom go to my church, don't believe there is a God or they believe in some other eastern god.

Why doesn't God show himself to everyone? Why so many other beliefs?

When God created us, he created us to have a relationship with him and to rule over the earth and all the animals. But when sin entered through Adam and Eve, these relationships were lost. People could no longer relate to God, people could no longer relate to each other and people could no longer relate to the world. In the beginning it was all good but through sin it became lost.

People had and still have an emptiness inside. A God shaped hole in our soul where our connection to God used to be. This is why people went one of two ways. They either tried (and still do) to fill the void with more sin (i.e. greed for money, power, material posessions, drugs, alcohol, adultery etc etc etc) or they tried to seek a higher being. Idols and all sorts of religions are based on this.

When God saw the time being right he made a promise to Abraham that he would be the beginning of a new era with God and after all the events we read about in the Old Testament we see God finally created Israel. Israel, as God's only people at the time was the shining light on a dark and lost earth. God had to start somewhere, Israel is where he satrted.
Then God kept his promises made through the prophets of the Old Testament, he sent his Son, Jesus and now all people of the earth have a chance to get to know him. He gave us the great commission, to proclaim the good news to all people.
Its a complicated and long process but this was God's plan to redeem his lost children.

The reason there are still so many other faiths goes back to basic human nature. People deep down have a desire to fill the God shaped emptiness inside. Some who don't know God fill it with a "made-up God" (an idol) and some try and miserably fail trying to fill that emptiness with sin.

Why didn't God send Jesus to every person on earth? I guess it's not how He saw things should be. He gave us Jesus and His book which is the Bible. And he left us His Holy Spirit which is the Spirit of Truth as Jesus calls Him. With these we are well on our way to an eternity with God. You won't need to visibly see or hear Jesus anyway because He has spoken to us through the Bible.

Read the Bible and pray that God will help you understand what He is saying to you and help you to apply it to your life. That is how God chose to reveal himself to everyone. :)

Romans 1:18-32 looks into the matter. People started out knowing and worshipping God. Remember, it was Noah, a righteous man, and his family who came out of the ark and populated the world (Genesis 9:18-19). Noah's sons would have at least known about God. Either they, their children, or their children's children decided to cast knowledge of God aside, and worship created things rather than the Creator. They started worshipping false gods, and because of that they and their religions got even more perverse over time.

Many times even AFTER God saved them from Egypt and other terrible trials, they still worshipped false Gods ... Look at the battle Gideon had. The isrealites were worshipping false Gods then... (Thats just one example) All the other religions are worshipping false Gods.. There is only ONE TRUE GOD, just as you said...

There's something called Satan. After the fall, man has evil desires. Man alone needs to worship something.

God sent down His son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins for those should believe in Him may have eternal life with God. Jesus said no one comes to the father except through me.

Jesus even claimed that He was and is God. What a HGH CLAIM. No other religion's main character ever claimed He was God. Jesus' ressurection proves that He was indeed God and that God approved of his messages and life. Jesus came down by God's will to fufill every prophecy.

Don't be hurting with your faith with God. He sent his sinless son Jesus Christ to die not only for you and me, but every so that by CHOICE, one can volunteeringly choose where they want to go. Jesus says choose life.

There is indeed only ONE GOD in and outside this universe. In fact the God Christians worship is the same one all these other religions are trying to worship such as Islam, Hinduism, and more. The problem lies with the way they are worshipping God.

In the case of Islam, they worship God through Mohammad whom they think God appointed and gave revalations down to. If you ever study world religions, you will know why Mohammad was indeed a false prophet and in fact Jesus warns us of these false prophets and teachers that come in God's name. Mohammad's life if compared to Jesus life (WHOLE LIFE) is COMPLETE opposite. Mohammad lived a life that God would NEVER EVER approve of, while Jesus lived a complete and total sinless life being tempted by the devil for 40 days to no avail.

So keep your faith strong because Jesus is coming back and doesn't want you to fall. Get up and AWAKEN your soul towards the risen Jesus, who was and is and is to come!

“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them” (Matthew 7:15). And, may I add, we should also watch out for false religions, which come to us crying “Peace! Peace!” when they were built on a foundation of murder and bloodshed.

One question would be- how do you know prophets were not sent to other areas as well, and they just got rejected?

Another point is that God knows who will and will not respond to the gospel, and in His providence all who are willing can come. There is scripture to back this up but it's my bedtime now. Sorry.

Very true, tradition holds that the apostles travelled very far to spread the Gospel. I think it was Matthias who was the one who reached India and preached. Whoever it was, I know he was skinned alive.

God chose the Jews to be his chosen people because they were the only one worshipping Him and no other gods or idols.....So he used Abraham as a link to bring forth the gospel.......all these other religions are false religions......islam, hindusim.,buddhism, witchcraft etc....we dont worship buddha, we dont worship "allah"- which is the arabic translated word for god but referring to the moon god and if u were to even compare The God of the bible and the god of the quran( the muslim holy book) IT displays different qualities with the god "allah" of the quran and with the qualites that are much different than Our God (Jehovah) in the Bible . So u must see that the "allah" in the quran is a completely different deity in total......a spirit that wants to be god but that is not god. In hinduism there are some wat 300 million gods plus that they worship...the corn god...rain god......etc .WE AS CHRISTIANS HAVE ONE GOD WHO SUPPLIES ALL OUR NEEDS . God even says in His word to be aware of false prophets .....and these religions are the manifestation of those false prophets in action....while these people are sincere....they are totally going the wrong way. JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY

I've often wondered the same thing.

Why if God chose the Jews are we not "Jewish"?

Because God's intention was always for salvation to be presented to all people and not just one nation. Israel was where he started, he had to start somewhere. Judaism is all about the law and with Jesus God took it one step further, he brought in grace. We are not under law but under grace. It's what God intended throughout the Old Testament. So God is no longer working on humanity through the 'Jews' but through 'Jesus' for all of humanity.

Hope that answers your question.

Ok, so you want to know why “If god chose the Jew, why are we not Jewish?”

Well you have to go back into the OT, in the book of Daniel to be exact. When Daniel had the vision dealing with the 70 weeks mentioned in Daniel 9:24 (I have placed the NASB here)
DA 9:24 “Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy place.

This is understood to be 490 years from the time that the Jews returned from Babylon to Jerusalem, after the decree went forth from King Artaxerxes in his seventh year of reign on the throne of Babylon. Which is gets the ball rolling on this subject and the time clock ticking.

And verses 25-26 states :
DA 9:25 “So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be built again, with plaza and moat, even in times of distress.
DA 9:26 “Then after the sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end will come with a flood; even to the end there will be war; desolations are determined.

These two verses state that after 69 of these weeks (or 483 years) from the time of the decree to Ezra to go back and rebuild the temple, that the “Messiah will cut off and have nothing,….” This part of the prophesy came true to the day when Jesus Christ rode that donkey into Jerusalem, the week of his Crucifixion.

The last 7 weeks of the 70 weeks of Daniel are the tribulation as it states in verse 27 :
DA 9:27 “And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate.”
This is speaking of the anti-Christ, and when he will make a promise with the Jews, and that he is going to break that promise.

But getting back to your question….

The time that we are living in right now is the time between week 69 and 70 of the 70 weeks. God has just put (excuse the metaphor) his watch on hold for the Jews right now. We are living in the age of the Church. This is our time, to do God’s work, and to do God’s will. He is not finished with the Jews. A time is set forth for them and it is coming quickly.

( now do not come after me if you do not believe in the Pre-tribulation or the rapture, this is not what this is about, thank you)
