• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why the blame?

I seem to notice a theme that keeps playing itself out in this forum....People finding a serious problem with society, and then somehow twisting it around and blaming it on homosexuality.

I've heard homosexuality take the blame for things like the decline in successful marriages (which is stupid because they're not even allowed to get married, therefore cannot affect the statistic) all the way to child molestation.

Does anyone here care to try to justify that with logic higher than that of a 2nd grader?

But then all those progressives wouldn't understand it! Ooooo, burn!

J/K

Seriously: I think a lot things are to blame for a lot of stuff. Not just some stuff.

(BTW, paste does not need to be licked in order to be sticky, for those who are in the second grade)

So you agree that it's not fair to lump homosexuals in with pedophiles and home-wreckers as some like to do...

I know, I do it strictly for the taste ;)

I haven't read any stats on how many marriages are wrecked because a guy runs away with a guy or anything. I'm sure it's happened, but I don't know the frequency. If a guy does that, he's to blame; he shouldn't do that. But I don't think we should just lump people all together. So I guess I agree with you.

its cause people dont want to be responsible for their sins so they look at other peoples sins and judge them while they sin just as mush as homosexuals:( people are so corrupt

My guess is, some people's tendency to blame homosexuality for all the world's evils involves the fact that homosexuality's the one "sin" they'll never be tempted to commit.

It's all about absolving themselves of their share of responsibility for the state of things.

All I can say is it seems a bit odd for a society to come crashing down simply because two men or two women love each other and express that love in a physical way. Don't all the murders, rapes, drug dealings, violence, robberies, divorces, tax evasions, orgies, abortions and wars instigated by heterosexuals have at least a wee bit to do with it as well?

I suspect the opposite, actually- given that most people have thoughts and desires all along the spectrum of sexuality, mention of the apparent cardinal sin of the modern age makes them intensely uncomfortable and edgy. We tend to react most violently to things which are close to our own heart. Homosexuals represent, not an easy target, but rather the thing some people most hate about themselves. Since everything gets filtered through this gaping imbalance in the psyche, it's easy to blame other things on it.

This is a great list!

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to HisEagle again.
