A capella psalmody is traditional and, I believe, the only biblically defensible option, though I'm fully aware that many will vehemently disagree with me on that. Hey, I used to be one of you ;) Until I made an in-depth study of the subject.

I trust that, as you say, you have studied the subject and so I am willing to learn. How does one reconcile your position with the following?:

KJV Psalm 149:3 Let them praise his
name in the dance: let them sing
praises unto him with the timbrel and
harp.

Deary me....

It's very simple. People love Jesus. People want to express their love for Jesus through the medium of music. Different people express their love for Jesus in different ways, ergo, different forms of worship music come about. Does the actual style matter? No, it does not matter as long as the music makes one increase in their love for Jesus.

I'd hate to see what some of you think about my trance/electronic music dedicated to the Father/Son/Holy Spirit..."It's evil! Demonically inspired! Unbiblical!".....

Does God not still have the right to tell us how he will and will not be worshipped?

And if it were unbiblical would you want to hear about it?

Well, since synthesizers and computers didn't exist in those days, I'd be surprised if the Bible had anything against my music to God. I don't see how it could offend Him any more then spreading the word on TV or on the internet-via new media.
David made his music to God on a lyre (and whatever other instruments he might have used.) I make my music to God using a keyboard. Because that's what I can make my best music on and what is available to me. Unless you're proposing there is something inherently evil about synthesizers?

I have to say I like both forms. I go to a church that does mostly contemporary praise and worship, but they throw in some traditional hymnals here and there and I love that. Have you heard some of the traditional hymn done with a full band? It's great. I love the words in the traditional hymns. They are very uplifting and inspiring, but what I always had trouble with was how slow they were played. I truly think most of those old hymns were not meant to be played at a snails pace like they are(of course, that's MY experience, growing up in Quaker churches--i cannot say how they are played elsewhere).

Any way, I don't see a problem with either type of worship music. I personally get more out of the modern songs, but I think alot of that may be due to the church I go to--the love and community at our church is so real, it probably wouldn't matter what kind of music was played!!! :)

You missed the point.....the bigger issue....nevermind.....

This is as rediculous as the first time you insinuated that we would reply with this notion.

Tigersnare,

Rather than attempting to answer CS2x with vague questions, how about biblically refuting his/her position rather than calling him/her "rediculous."

Clement of Rome, I did not call him/her rediculous.

I called the question, which was specifically quoted, rediculous. And I was implying that this
I'd hate to see what some of you think about my trance/electronic music dedicated to the Father/Son/Holy Spirit..."It's evil! Demonically inspired! Unbiblical!".....
was equally rediculous as to assumed what we would think of his music.

The subject of corporate worship is of special interest to me as I play guitar for my church. I read a good article by Brian Schwertley who makes a case AGAINST the use of musical instruments in worship services. I can see his logic but am not a stickler about it. It's a lengthy article but worth a read. You can read it here:

Sorry if I came across as rude.
But I dislike people proclaiming certain forms of worship to God as wrong (even Satanic sometimes.) God is beyond our understanding-how dare we declare another brother's form of worship to Him is invalid and Satanic! We can't judge. God will judge that person's heart.
