By the way, if the gods said that lust was good they'd be what we call demons.

Yes, they would be what you called demons from a Christian standpoint. This is a hypothetical situation. IF the true higher power (of whatever form) held that opinion.

And never did I say anything about lust being "good," just that it's integral to sexual life. I don't understand how people can deny that . . .

Gluttony is not such a narrow concept for Christians. It usually means eating purely for the sake of pleasure. Eating excessive food is one instance when that happens.

Lust is having sex (or deriving pleasure from sexual thoughts) for pleasure's sake. This doesn't have to be a part of anyone's sex life.

What you are probably reffering to is sexual desire, which is not evil at all, but a very healthy part of a couple's love life.

I being a Christian believe alot of Christians love to point out sins that don't affect them in any way what so ever, as long as they are pointing fingers at people they believe are worse "sinners" they feel more righteous, as you can well see there are alot of obese Christians that are really up in arms about the whole gay marriage thing, but if you ever mention gluttony to them they automaticly have the responce that alot of gluttony is medical condition. "give me a break" Sin is sin, clean up your own back yard first, when you become perfect then start pointing out others sins.

because God will judge a people as a nation , if the nation allows abortion then God will judge that nation, if a nation allows people to defy god's law and say it is ok to have homosexual marriage then God will judge that nation. some say that things like aids is God's judgement on gays but it is merely God trying to say (This is not right) When God judges this nation it will be with nuclear bombs

1. I've never heard of people being judged by what their nation allows, but rather by what they have (or haven't) done as an individual. Otherwise, what would be the point of being saved?

2. Allowing homosexuals to marry isn't saying it's "okay" but rather that the government has no constitutional right to outlaw it.

3. AIDS is not God's way of saying homosexuality isn't right, because obviously there wouldn't be so many heterosexual people with it. The real reason AIDS became such an epidemic among gay men is because the idea of homosexual sex was such a taboo that mainstream culture wouldn't talk about it. The fact that so many gay men were getting critically ill from a mysterious disease was pushed under the rug.

I think the reason so many people want to stop gays from marrying is because they'd prefer to pretend that homosexuality doesn't exist. If they don't see it, they think it's not there. What people need to realize is that there are always going to be things in this world that you disapprove of, so you might as well accept it and move on.
