Why wait for Gods time?
Why wait?
You travel home on a dark winters night on a winding narrow road with dangerous cliff edges. On the way you meet a set of traffic lights for road works saying RED. You stop at the red lights and WAIT and WAIT and WAIT! The lights appear to be jammed, on red, surely they are. You begin to feel ANNOYED and FRUSTRATED. There are no cars coming you can see their lights if they did. But inside a voice NO dont go through a red light.
Finally the waiting gets too much and you give in you step out the protection designed by the wait and drive off. Within a few minutes you meet a lorry, your car skids off the road and hangs 1 meter from death on a cliff edge.
Gods will in WAITING hurts us at times, annoys us or frustrates us, why? Because we are human and yes sinful by nature. But God knows best, and the lesson is NEVER go through a RED light in our lives. With relationships, never force the issue and try and help God along a bit. Wait for His light to say GREEN. Green means SAFE in HIS WILL and blessing in His path. How many Christians have gone through a RED light and married someone, who wasnt Gods desire and ended up with a sad relationship?
Why Wait?
May be there is someone whom you like and God desires you to have, but the time is not right? May be as yet they are not saved or mature enough. By not waiting Gods time you can spoil the whole thing.
There are 4 pears on a tree, each of them has the potential to FILL up that hunger and to give you PLEASURE in eating when they are ripe.
You have the choice to WAIT for the RIPE SEASON or eat now.
This could be so for you in a relationship situation. You could date someone with whom you know is not the best time do so. Yes they will satisfy some of those emotional feelings etc but you probably would never enter into the greater deeper joy of it because you didnt wait for the RIPE SEASON.
Why Wait?
The best reason for waiting apart from pleasing Him is this verse Eye has NOT seen or EAR heard nor has the mind imagined Oh Lord apart from You, the things you have PREPARED for those who WAIT for You
Is that not a good reason to wait? Wouldnt you like a relationship or career a friendship or whatever you are reaching our for that is far above your wildest dreams? I would.
So Why Wait?
It honours God, matures your faith, increases your trust, brings you into a deeper relationship, causes you to rely upon Him for happiness more.
Why Wait?
Because God wants you to.
Bless you john
