Why should the disciples be afraid of a spirit?

The text explicitly states THEY thought "IT" was his ( Peter's ) angel ( aka ghost )...
...That's boldly stated, right there.

That is simply human nature as I've ( and other's ) have already told you...
...Witch of Endor should be more then enough for you to realize this.

1 Sam 28,15
And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up?

Samuel was DEAD so explain that one.
I have stated before that it is not stated or implied that they spoke of any ghost. The word is angel.
Is there any where in scripture where angle is use to mean ghost? NO!

Elder, Elder, come on. A lot of people say there not afraid of the dark, until they have to walk down a loney empty street at night.

And if something or someone jumped out at them, they can usually break the world record for the 100 yard dash, even the strongest of men will have some fear.

Talking about believing in spirit creatures, is one thing, seeing one is quite another. Even the bravest will react in fear. To deny this is to deny human nature.

Why did Samuel come up and not down?

Because at that time no one who died was "in" heaven - that ability only existed after Christ......
...Up to that point you went down to the pit and it was understood there was an area of the pit.
....Reserved for those who had lived right - the others went into a form of torment.

Impossible to tell if her terrified shriek was due to Samuel, or Saul. Apparently it was a bit of both.
Absolutely not. It is clear that she was afraid because she found out it was Saul.

Scripture please. Scripture please! If not that is a complete fabrication. Strait out of hell.

Why is it that we find it so difficult to believe that the disciples feared because they knew that a spirit was something dangerous, unwelcome.
We know the evil that spirits do. Why we believe that they are the dead who return when the scripture never said so.

The disciples were ghost believers...
We can conclude that Ghost and the spirit of men are not of God and should be rebuked in the name of Jesus.
Further confirmed in the fact God that commanded us and the Jews not to have nothing to do with those that claimed to have familiar spirit, as a matter of fact he commanded that they be stoned to death. Do we need more?

Incorrect.

"Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel. (1 Samuel 28:12) And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice"

It is clear Saul is a major player here, but seeing Samuel is not ruled out as at least part of her terror. The big picture here is flesh, before that which is Holy. No different from the question posed in the OP.

Leviticus 20:27
A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.

Now what you have done is self serving and unholy. The context of the chapter or the whole verse has nothing to support your contention.
8And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee.
9And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die?
10And Saul sware to her by the LORD, saying, As the LORD liveth, there shall no punishment happen to thee for this thing.
11Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel.
12And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul.
