We can't destroy the content of salvation (the life, death and resurrection of Christ), but we can reject it, abuse it, misuse it.Who can destroy your salvation, when it is from God?
You seem to consider faith in Christ and trust in the grace of God as something that lulls Christians into thinking it's okay to live like the devil.
Notice Lord, Lord, didn't 'WE'. It should have been Lord, Lord, didn't YOU. These many people were trusting in their works for salvation and not in Christ alone. Also, Jesus never knew (vs. 23) these many people in Matthew 7:22 which means they were never saved.
Well, when holy living by the Sanctification of the Spirit (after being saved by God’s grace) is not a requirement for salvation, then… yes. On some level, a Christian will most likely justify sin on some level because holy living is not required of them to enter God’s Kingdom. They will just believe in Jesus as their Savior and live as they please. Sure, not all of them may not sleep around and get into drunken parties, but there are other sins that they can justify that can equally condemn them like lying, or swearing, or looking upon women in lust, etc.
For if you take away the punishment of people speeding on the highways, then more people will speed and do any speed they like because there is no consequence to their actions.
You're analogy doesn't hold. Most people speed because they do not see the consequence of it, namely, that they could cause an accident and kill someone. But, all Christians know that they killed Christ and so obey the commandments out of love. I don't know of any traditional denomination who teaches according to their confessions, an 'easy beliefism'
Having faith in Christ and trust in the grace of God, shouldn't amount to a lifestyle of willful sinning for those who have an indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
I strongly disagree. I believe the analogy holds just fine. While there are many people who think speeding can lead to getting into an accident and hurting others, most unfortunately do not think that way. Most are motivated by the punishment of the Law. Most people do not want to pay fines and waste time going to court. In fact, there are Christians who admitted to me both online and in person that they could mow down a crowd of people with a sub machine gun and still be saved while doing so.
In fact, here is a poster admitting to me that they can sin and still be saved on CF here.
Also, check out this thread here:
Prove your case biblically that believers can willfully sin and still be saved while doing so.
For if a belief in Jesus is really all that is required to be saved then sin will eventually be justified by that person at some point. Even if they were not to justify sin, their very teaching can lead others into sin (even children hearing their message).
In fact, I believe we are living in the last days as per 2 Timothy 3:1-9.
Then it cannot be a gift, that is my point.

Ok. I've seen all I want to see of that 2nd thread. Wow, just wow.
Many Christians appear to be for holy living, but it is a facade. I have been talking on various different Christian forums over the past 10 years, and it’s the same ole story.
Take for example, John MacArthur (A known Calvinist). He also pretends to teach holy living as a requirement for salvation, but he really does not believe that way according to the Bible. The Lordship Salvation doctrine he popularized is a Trojan horse.
How so?
Well, Kenneth Nally committed suicide as per his influence of John MacArthur's ministry and MacArthur said that he was still saved.
Here is a quote from an article:
"At the trial, MacArthur, 45, is seeking to clarify his church’s teaching on suicide. “It’s not only a sin, it’s illegal,” he says. “But we teach that even if a believer takes his own life, the Lord will still receive him into His presence.”

John MacArthur says that a person can take the mark of the beast and they can still be saved afterwards. Listen to this audio clip by him here:
John MacArthur says,
".. sin does not result in spiritual death for the believer ...
(The MacArthur Study Bible, p. 1927, comment on James 1:15)"
John MacArthur confirms how one can sin and still be saved here in this video:
That's gross.

I had no idea that this belief was out there.

Anyways, I know this news is a bit of a downer. To help uplift you and your family in the Lord, I would recommend checking out my top favorite Christian films here at CF.
My Top Favorite Christian Films on DVD.
I would highly recommend first seeing
1. Time Changer
2. Play the Flute.
3. Redemption of Henry Myers.
4. Polycarp.
5. What if.
May you be blessed in the Lord.
It is even worse. Some believers do not even try to hide it with teaching holy living.
To give you an example: In an LA Fitness Gym in Pennsylvania on August 4, 2009, a man named George Sodini fired 50 rounds into an aerobic class before turning the gun on himself. The shooting resulted four deaths (including Sodini himself) and nine injured. George Sodini was a member of the Tetelestai Church where he sat quietly for many years, listening to the teachings of his preacher. Talking about the pastor of his Church, Sodini wrote in his blog dated Dec. 31, 2008,
“this guy” (Alan “Rick” Knapp) “teaches (and convinced me) you can commit mass murder then still go to heaven. Ask him.”
And in a post dated August 3, 2009, Sodini said;
“Maybe soon, I will see God and Jesus. At least that is what I was told. Eternal life does NOT depend on works. If it did, we will all be in hell. Christ paid for every sin, so how can I or you be judged by GOD for a sin when the penalty was already paid. People judge but that does not matter. I was reading the Bible and The Integrity of God beginning yesterday, because soon I will see them.”
After the horrible incident in Pennsylvania, Pastor Knapp’s deacon, Jack Rickard commented on Sodini’s death and said;
“George is going to heaven, but he’s not going to get his rewards,” (SOURCE )

O.S.A.S. – THE WATCHMAN'S CRY
It’s invaded many branches of Christianity in my experience. I always ask the test questions with Christians to see if they believe this way. In most of my experiences with other believers, they tend to believe some form of sin and still be saved type belief. It truly is unfortunate.
We must love others with the love of Christ more than ever.
We must love our enemies, pray, and do good towards them.
If you were to stand before God and he were to ask you, "Why should I let you into my heaven?", what would you say?
Of course, when you speed, you sin. You're analogy doesn't hold. Most people speed because they do not see the consequence of it, namely, that they could cause an accident and kill someone.
It has pleased my Savior and Judge, your one and only Son whom you gave in mercy for my salvation, to judge me righteous in him.If you were to stand before God and he were to ask you, "Why should I let you into my heaven?", what would you say?
Of course, when you speed, you sin.
And when you don't use turn-signals.
Or ... when you don't share with those in need.
Or ... when you unjustly judge your brother.
And so on ... and so on ...
