The consensus is that it's about those who think they can get to heaven by what they do, rather than by what Christ did for them.
Salvation is not like a car that can be wrecked in an accident.
You said:It is given by God. Are you saying that when God gives someone a gift, and tell him its a free gift, he can take it back, if the person is not responsible?
You said:If so, why would you still consider that a free gift? When you give gifts to someone, say your kids, if you try to take them back by claiming that they are irresponsible, do you really think its still a free gift?
But is there not some form of action or doing something as a part of being in God’s kingdom mentioned in Matthew 7:26-27, Luke 10:25-28, Matthew 25:30, Matthew 25:31-46, Matthew 13:41-42? I mean, what do you do with verses like these? For me: I just read them and believe them plainly.
Narrow is the way that leads unto life and few be there that finds it.
So it’s not the general wide gate path consensus that is going to win in the end.
It’s God’s Word that will win out in the end and I gave it to you and all to plainly see.
Ephesians 2:8-10 never gets old
Our obedience in Him is His obedience in us.
Salvation is not like a car that can be wrecked in an accident.
It is given by God. Are you saying that when God gives someone a gift, and tell him its a free gift, he can take it back, if the person is not responsible?

Sure it can.
Faith is how we access God’s saving grace (Ephesians 2:8).
And faith according to the Bible can be shipwrecked (i.e. it can be destroyed like in accident).
“holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and thereby shipwrecked their faith.” (1 Timothy 1:19) (BSB).
The gift is Jesus Christ. For God so loved the world that He GAVE His only begotten Son.
Christ does not abide in those who rebel against Him and or who justify sin.
Jesus is God and God is holy and good.
For what fellowship does Christ have with belial?
Again, if they received a free gift like say a toy car and they ruined it by driving it off a high bridge, that is on them to learn. What do you do with all the warnings in the Bible about a loss of our salvation?
"Lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on me a sinner."
Having faith in Christ and trust in the grace of God, shouldn't amount to a lifestyle of willful sinning for those who have an indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
"Lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on me a sinner."
Indeed, anomialism, and conversely, observance of the Mosaic law, seems specifically disproven by the Summary of the Law given by our Lord and the decree of the Council of Jerusalem in Acts 15:
“28For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; 29That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well.”
1 John 3:9 - No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. (NASB 1995)Having faith in Christ and trust in the grace of God, shouldn't amount to a lifestyle of willful sinning for those who have an indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
Notice Lord, Lord, didn't 'WE'. It should have been Lord, Lord, didn't YOU. These many people were trusting in their works for salvation and not in Christ alone. Also, Jesus never knew (vs. 23) these many people in Matthew 7:22 which means they were never saved. One can see in Matthew 7:22 that such humility is totally lacking.
Because You promised ...If you were to stand before God and he were to ask you, "Why should I let you into my heaven?", what would you say?
"Father, I have sinned against heaven and against You. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.If you were to stand before God and he were to ask you, "Why should I let you into my heaven?", what would you say?
I looked up "anomialism" but it only brought up articles rather than a definition of the word.
Wrong answer ...If you were to stand before God and he were to ask you, "Why should I let you into my heaven?", what would you say?
