II Kings
5:1 Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great
man with his master, and honorable, because by him the LORD
had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in
valour, but he was a leper.
5:2 And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought
away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited
on Naaman’s wife.
5:3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my Lord were with
the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his
leprosy.
5:4 And one went in, and told his Lord, saying, Thus and thus said the
maid that is of the land of Israel.
5:5 And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto
the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents
of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of
raiment.
5:6 And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when
this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman
my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy.
5:7 And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter,
that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make
alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his
leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a
quarrel against me.
5:8 And it was so, when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king
of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying,
Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? let him come now to me, and
he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.
5:9 So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at
the door of the house of Elisha.
5:10 And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in
Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and
thou shalt be clean.

7 is the number of completetion in the Bible..read in Revelations..how many seals are there? 7

My pastor at the church I used to go to did a good sermon on the number 7, I don't remember what all he said, but he pointed out a few times where the number seven was used in the Bible.

Just like there are seven principal gifts of the Holy Spirit, likewise there are seven principal vices (or seven demons - Mt. 12:45) by which we need to be cleansed. The Mystery of Baptism effects this cleansing.

Ah lucky seven.

A few years back one of my co-workes handed me a business card with a saying on it. He then asked how many time the word if or it, can't remember, was written on it.

I saw 2, he said look again, then I saw 3, "he goes are you sure?" So I read again and find even more.

Point is, while I was looking, I only saw so many instances of the word until it was brought my attention.

I have read in the old testiment, and the number 8 seems to be revealed at different key moments without actually using the numeral "8". This has me wondering some.

Now this actually is different depending on how old your bible is also. Mine is over 30 years old, the new ones the wording is different.

I forget which family it is with the 7 sons. But what was the daughters name? In my teachings, this was not mentioned as if not important, or maybe I just don't remember them speaking of her.

My bible trivia is horrid. I do remember concepts, and when I noticed this little thing, I started to ponder.

So yes seven appears many times over. Seven is part of eight. The eigth is cleverly disquised in many cases. Is there a significance? Who knows. It is just something I noticed and a bit courious about also.

Thats also the big deal with 6. Six is imperfect, falling just short of seven (the "perfect" number). 666 is the superlative of imperfection, which is why Satan got that pinned to himself.

Love in Christ,

Kyle

There were seven eyes on one Stone

Christ is the perfect man we are to grow up into, isnt His name numerically equivilent to 888?

You know? I read that somewheres, gotta do a google search now:p

Peace
