  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why revival tarries

Yeah.. it's a deep question. In order to see revival, repentance is absolutely crucial (2 Chronicles 7:14; 1 Kings 8:46-50; 2 Chronicles 6:26-27; Hosea 5:15; Joel 2:12-13; Deuteronomy 4:29; 30:2-3; Jeremiah 24:7; 29:13-14)

So of course this requires that God's people experience a new awareness of their sin. It takes great humility, and is certainly something that can only be initiated by God (Isaiah 59:16; Jeremiah 24:7; 33:6-9; Titus 3:5)

So I think the quote by Ravenhill packs quite a punch. Most often we are content to live without repentance (I know so often I am!)

That being said, I'm super encouraged by the fact that God promises revival (Ezekiel 11:19; 36:26; Jeremiah 31:33-34; Zechariah 10:6)

Leonard Ravenhill said that the reason we don't have revival is because we are content to live without it. What do you think?
Amos 7:7-8 and Malachi 3:5a states the criteria for revival, but Malachi 3:2 tells us what is resisting it.

Christianity is 1 Timothy 2:5 and Matthew 23:8-11, but the way that churches have implemented Christianity is Mark 10:42.

The reason is that the churches have been infiltrated by evil spirits and led astray to idolatry, because over 90% of word spoken to it's members is from a non-Christian source (eg, TV, radio, newspaper, social media). But we do not blame only modern technology, because it is sin that caused it, ~2,000 years ago.

Consider 2 Thessalonians 2:3 along with these scriptures: Adonai Reigns : The Gospel : What Went Wrong?

Revival is happening though (Isaiah 66:7-8).

The Lord is not willing that ANY should perish, but that ALL shall come to repentance.

There is no revival because we are truly approaching the end times...
I think around the world conditions can greatly differ; one country can see a lot of spiritual growth as people denied the Word for centuries gladly receive it when presented and preached, while others who have had the privilege of walking in the light for centuries despise that privilege and fall away from God's purposes.

Also, the "revival" I speak of, is actually the revival of Zion; The New Jerusalem.

Daniel 9:26 shows that desolations have been decreed until the end comes, by the one who lays waste. Imagine this ties in with description of desolation in Isaiah 6:11. Interesting that it speaks of a flood. Matthew 24:38-39 does too.
