Most doctors who perform abortions do plenty of other things as well. It wouldn't even get close to putting them out of work if you outlawed abortion.

The main difference between illegal abortion in the past and illegal abortion if resumed in the US today would be the choice of abortion causing agents. Women can now access a great deal of information about inducing early miscarriage, by means primarily of off-label use of commonly available birth control and menses regulating hormones. This can be as dangerous in its own way as the traditional coat-hanger, if care were not taken to use safe dosages.

Never fear, LN, women's doctors would still have plenty of work, trying to repair the harm done by botched home abortions and unexpected side effects of self medication.
