  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

It is to lament the destruction of the Temple. When the temple is rebuilt, they will eat lamb once again on Pesach. The only requirement for lamb at passover is the shank bone, other than that, it is tradition to withhold from eating of lamb during the Seder... that is until the temple is rebuilt.

How is it the bone that is the only requirement?

See, I have a problem with that, there was no tabernacle in Egypt when this feast was initiated, let alone a Temple. It was not razed on Pasache, so how can they justify not following the law to the letter?

Why take the Passover Lamb out of Passover, isn't Pasache THE LAMB?

Yet still they have the mystical Afikomen. :)

We have lamb each year - kosher but not sacrificed at the Temple - which, once instituted did not G-d say that sacrifices could only happen there or with a Levi priest??

Personally, I am grateful that, with the price of kosher lamb today, it is not a sacrificed lamb, for I would have to burn the left overs and at over $6.00 a lb that hurts ;) Our roast this year cost over $60. LOL

But seriously - because it IS a kosher lamb it has been sacrificed after as fashion, as much as can be without a priesthood or Temple.

If you read through the various sections of scripture that tell of Passover and it's various instructions you will find that the instructions to the slaves about to depart Mitzryim and those given to the free servants of HaShem differ in several points. One that immediately comes to mind is that the slaves were no where commanded to eat the bitter hebs, but the servants of HaShem are.
